Lyra woke up screaming for air. Her friends kept her from an ungraceful landing in the sand.

"The fish," she said. "Hell."

"What?" Benjamin seemed amused. "Fish hell? Are you feeling alright?"

"Benny! Yeah, I'm fine. What's going...on...?" Lyra looked over the ocean and saw the battle. Roxy, who was fifty feet tall for some reason, was fighting the Universe Boss. Roxy's staff and the Boss's sword gleamed in the fading sunlight as the two combatants clashed like a cute outfit on a terrible person.

"Oh, them," Andesine said dismissively. "They've been fighting for three hours, minimum. Roxy won't let us help."

"You sound disappointed."

"Well, I don't exactly want my butt handed to me, but it sure is annoying to wait around for either you to wake up or for Roxy to win," Andesine replied. "I mean, dying isn't much fun, but come on."

"Yeah, that's great," Winter said hurriedly. "But, uh. Roxy's getting tired? I think it's time we tried to join in. Again."

They all glanced over at Roxy, who didn't seem any different, and then back at Winter.

Winter winced. "Okay, so it might not be that obvious. But she is wearing out. You'll just have to trust me."

"I'm cool with it," Lyra replied. "So. Who you guys wanna see?" She held up her keys. A wicked grin stretched across her face.

Roxy had not expected to be this angry for this long. She'd pounded the Boss as much as she could, with so many different types of magic that she couldn't name them all. Most of them hadn't landed.

Now, she was getting tired, and running on the fear of what the Boss might do to her friends. It wasn't good fuel.

She blocked another strike from the Boss, but left just enough of an opening for the Boss to sock her in the jaw and send her flying. Roxy shrunk herself down to her original size to save energy and concentrated on not hitting the beach at a million miles an hour. She ended up on her side. Her arm felt like it was going to fall off.

Ananda was there in seconds and whisked Roxy back to the others just as a sword cleaved down where Roxy had been.

Benny took one look at Roxy's arm and proclaimed it broken, then ran towards the jungle. Ananda and the others followed.

"You can't hide from me in there!" The Boss bellowed. "I'll find you!"

Roxy groaned softly. Ananda set her down. "Are you alright?" Ananda asked anxiously.

"Look at Ananda and tell her your pain on a scale from one to ten," Benjamin said hurriedly.

Roxy looked at Benny. "Why do you want me to look at Anan-- argh!" She gave out a strangled cry as Benny jerked her bent arm straight and set it. "What the hell?!"

"Sorry," Benny said. "Pain?"

"Eight," Roxy spat, and Benny winced. "Sorry. Okay, so you stay here. It's our turn."

"No way, you guys need me," Roxy said, and tried to sit up.

"Yes, way," Benny said as he held her down, "and yes we can. Ananda, take care of her."

With that, he sped off. Andesine rolled his eyes and muttered something about how Benny should maybe make up his mind before following. Lyra lingered just a little bit, but left shortly after Winter did, saying, "Hey, Rox? Don't push yourself, but... when you feel okay, you should probably come back. This thing... it really scares me." Her voice wobbled as she finished the sentence, then cracked.
