"Let's go to the fun house!" Lydia squealed as she saw the red and white tent. She pulled Stiles, and he reluctantly went, and so did their friends. The girl skipped inside of the tent, all giddy and jumpy.
When they got inside, Lydia sighed and just stared. The cute lantern lights, and the crazy mirrors made her giggle, and no one knew why, including herself. Maybe it's just a rush of nostalgia, but she doesn't know for sure.
"Come here!" she again pulled Stiles to the first mirror. It made your middle part stretch out really wide. Stiles also started to find the fun in it, and started moving his arms up and down in a sinuous way.
Lydia was laughing so hard because Scott joined in too, but Kira was too small, so the "middle part" on the mirror for her, was her head, which was so funny. Lydia grabbed her stomach from it hurting and nearly fell to the ground, only to get looks from young children and their parents around her.
Stiles helped her up with a chuckle as she put a hand over her mouth to keep her from stop giggling. "You're so weird." he said with a smile. "Well, you're weird too, why would you turn that cute bod of yours into that," as she points to the mirror," and then make me start laughing and fall?"
Stiles chuckled again for what seemed like the millionth time. "I'm soooo sorry Lydia." He poked her cheek. She frowned. "Ugh, just call me Lyds. You would think I like Lydia, well I do, but it gets annoying sometime. I don't know." she said with her face in her hands.
Stiles removed her hands from her face and chuckled again. "Please don't hide your face. It's too beautiful to be hidden." he said with a small smile.
Lydia was surprised to have heard something like that come out from a boy like him, but that didn't matter, she sure was happy.
At one mirror, Kira took a mirror selfie on her Polaroid with all of them, and suddenly, stiles placed his arm around Lydia's waist and held her tight as the picture was taken. She smiled at him and pulled his hand and pecked him on the cheek, leaving a red lipstick mark.
They finished their trip to the fun house, and sadly, it was time to leave the fair.
They went out to a new 50's retro diner that opened up for dinner. Lydia was again, mesmerized when she walked in. "Look at the waitress' outfits!" then she pointed and gasped. "Oh my god! Look, it's a jukebox!" she ran over to it, and ran her hands over the neon lights on it.
Suddenly she felt big, warm hands on her shoulder. "Lyds, calm down." he chuckled. She turned to face him. "I can't! This is all so overwhelming, but in the best way!" Stiles smiled, lucky to be on a date with this girl. "Okay, let's go sit down, I'm hungry." he said.
The two sat across from their friends in the velvety booth and smiled at each other. The four talked and laughed, until a waitress came up asking what they wanted to drink.
"I'll have a Diet Coke." Kira said. "Uh, water please." Scott said. But Lydia had something else on her mind. She was smiling big like a little girl. "Do you happen to have milkshakes?" Lydia asked in her most polite voice. "We do." the waitress smiled. Lydia grinned.
"Alright, well, me and him," as she points to Stiles, "will have one chocolate milkshake." she said to the waitress. The waitress wrote the orders done and clapped her notepad shut. "Alright, your drinks will be with you in a minute."
After the waitress left, Stiles turned to Lydia, opening his mouth to ask why they were sharing a shake. But Kira was faster. "You'll thank her later." Kira smiled. Stiles looked at her, still bewildered and started to talk with them again.
Soon, their drinks arrived, and the waitress handed the shake to Lydia. There happened to only be only one straw in it. As the waitress was about to leave, Stiles raised his hand slightly and said, "Uh, can we have an-" but Lydia's hand clapped over his mouth. The waitress was confused, but Lydia flashed her a famous smile. "We're fine." Lydia said.
Lydia sipped some of the shake and leaned backward. "That is so good. Here." she said as she handed the glass to Stiles. He took it hesitantly and waited a second before sipping some. His eyes widened. "Damn, that is good." He set the glass down, and smiled at Lydia.
Lydia reached for the boy's hand underneath the table and locked her fingers in his. Kira and Scott didn't notice though.
They ordered and got their food, which was really good. Then, it was time to go to Lydia's house. For the sleepover.
