Chapter 14
I was standing next to Eli preparing to Apparate to a spot near the hotel. I looked to my mum and she nodded indicting for us to apparate (Eli had gotten his license the past summer). I felt the familiar pull of my body and the twists and turns of moving across the ocean to Wisconsin. My feet hit the ground and I struggled to stay standing. Eli, noticing my struggle, wrapped an arm around my waist to help me stand. I smiled at him and he smiled back. Suddenly, I heard someone scream "ASHTON!" It sounded oddly familiar but I couldn't place my finger on it. I spun round to see my best friend running towards me. I stood there shocked. I didn't know what to say. "MAGGIE!" I yelled back and hugged her.
"What are you doing here?" She asked. I rolled my eyes. What did she think I was doing here.
"You know...painting pictures of rainbows with my imaginary pet hippogriff...What do you think I am doing here? I am here for vacation!" I said with frustration. She could be so daft.
"Duh! I can't believe I asked that!"
"Well if you don't mind us we are going to head up to our room. Which is on the 4th floor."
"Aww! Our room is on the 6th and we are staying for only tonight and tomorrow since we left yesterday." I sighed in relief. I loved her but sometimes a girl needs a break from her friends!
"That sucks! Well see you later!" I grabbed my bag and we started to walk over to the lift. "You know I love her and all but she gets on my nerves sometimes..." I whispered. I heard Eli chuckle. I pressed the button and I heard my parents, my 'uncles', Harry and Jaelyn come over to the life just as it opened. We all squished inside and stood there in silence until we got to the fourth floor. We all walked out of the lift and looked down the hall to see several doors lining the walls.
"Our room is number 4023. And your guys' room is 4025 all the way down at the end of the hall." My dad said looking down at a piece of paper.
"Race ya!" I said looking to Harry and sprinted down the hall. Harry followed after me and soon we were neck in neck. "If you think you are faster than me Harry then you are wrong." I said almost nearing the door. I felt something hit my legs and I fell down in front of the door. "HARRY!" I yelled slightly laughing.
"Actually that was me!" Eli said excitedly even though I didn't exactly know why. I put the card my father had given me into the door handle. I twisted the handle and opened the door when the little light turned from red to green. I stepped inside quickly and glanced around the room. It was incredible! There was a small kitchen, a couch, a muggle TV, two bedrooms, a full bath and a Jacuzzi! I run to one of the doors and wretch it open. Inside I find two queen sized beds and a medium sized TV. I ran and jumped on one of the beds. I heard footsteps in the room and just kept lying there. "Hey, do you want to do anything? Like go to the pool?" Eli asked. I quickly lifted my head up and realized that I forgot that I didn't pack one! "CRAP! I knew I was forgetting something. Don't go swimming until I get back." I said getting up and walking to the door.
"Where are you going?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.
"I am going to buy one with my mum. Hang out with Harry. Make sure he doesn't pick up any girls because Ginny would be pissed." I said giggling a bit. I walked back over to him and kissed his cheek and hugged him. "See you later!" I said opening the door and walking across the hall to get my mum.
My mum and I got back at around 11 am and we decided to get Eli, Harry and the rest of the gang and go out to eat for lunch. I walked to my room and knocked on the door. Nobody came to answer the door so I dug through my pockets and found my key I had. I put into the door and pushed it open. Siiting at the coffee table was Remus, Sirius, My father, Eli, and Harry playing a muggle board game. Not just any board game, No, they were playing Scattergories. My favorite muggle game! They were comparing each other's answers and talking loudly so they couldn't hear me walk in. I cleared my throat and they all jumped. They looked up to see that I was crossing my arms and tapping my foot. Mum walked in the room with the same expression on. "I am glad you guys are having fun, but where's Jaelyn?" I asked stifling a laugh. They all looked around to try and find Jaelyn. Spotting her, Eli got up and walked over to the Jacuzzi and picked her up and walked back over to me.
"Here she is!" He said giving a goofy grin.
"Okay, well go get changed and we will go out to lunch. Sounds like a deal?" Mum asked, taking Jaelyn out of Eli's arms and giving her to me. They all groaned in protest. I rolled my eyes. Geez these guys could complain. I sat Jaelyn on the ground and I walked over to Eli and Harry and gave them my hands. They took my hands and pulled themselves up. The others got up and moved slowly out the door. "DON'T WEAR ANYTHING FANCY BUT WEAR SOMETHING NICE!" I shouted to them as they left. I walked into mine and Eli's room (the one with two beds) and set my suitcase on my bed. I unzipped it and dug out some clothes. I pulled out some red skinny jeans, my union jack 'flowy' shirt and dark blue converse. I shut the door and locked it with a spell that neither Eli nor Harry knew. I quickly changed and stepped in front of the full length mirror. I took the hair tie off my wrist and quickly put my hair in a side braid. I went back to my bag and found some cute glasses. No they are not hipster glasses, they are like the ones the Doctor wears in Doctor Who. They just make me look cool. I unlocked the door with a counter charm and walked out with my wand in hand. The boys were sitting on the couch waiting for me. They were both wearing plaid shirts and a nice pair of jeans. I smiled. They could really clean up if they need to. I walked over to the and kissed them both on the cheek. "You both look very cute!" I said happily.
"We are not cute!" Harry started.
"We are manly!" Eli said as they both began to show off their muscles in various positions. I giggled a bit at this.
"You just keep telling yourself that..." I said trailing off.
"Well, why are you looking so cute?" Harry questioned.
"Is it a crime to dress cute for girls? Maybe I can pick up a guy while we are out." I say winking at Eli. He winked back. 'He doesn't even know why he winked...3...2..1..' I thought. Eli had a look of mock hurt on his face.
"I thought I was your boyfriend?"
"You are! You can be so clueless sometimes!" I say linking arms with them and walking out the door.
