*Lily's POV*
Driving through town, I stopped off at the shop to pick up some food for a picnic. I shoved all the food into a bag in the back of the car and we carried on out of town. Not many people came out this far and it was quiet and peaceful.
I was taking him to one of my favourite places in the world. As a child I had spent a lot of time here, escaping from reality. To me it was just the most beautiful place I could imagine and I hoped Adam would agree.
We arrived after about an hour in the car. I grabbed the picnic from the back and started up the hill in front of us, Adam climbing along next to me. We were at the top in about five minutes and i laid out a blanket I had found in the car. We both sat down and looked out at the view.
From here you could see the whole town in the distance with fields and fields between us. To the left we could see the sea sparkling in the sun and to the right there were some magnificent mountains with the tops covered in snow. The hill itself was bright green with a single blossom tree at the very top.We leaned against the tree and started the picnic.
*Adam's POV*
I was wonder struck by all the magnificent views. Every direction I looked there was something beautiful to see. I was staring out at the sea when Lily spoke.
'So do you like it?' she asked.
'Yes! It's amazing!' she seemed relieved at my response.
'I used to spend a lot of time up here when I was younger. It's so peaceful up here.'
'How did you find this place? its so empty, you'd think it would be busy up here.' I said, happily tucking into an ice-cream sandwich.
'No one really ever comes out this way. I found it by accident, walking through the forest just back there,' she said, pointing to the trees we had just walked through.
'It's such a lovely place! I love it here!' I said, smiling over at Lily. She smiled back and started on an ice-cream sandwich. We sat there on the Hill just chatting for a couple of hours.
'Do you wanna know what the best part is?' she said, grinning over at me, I nodded enthusiastically.
'There's more.' she said, jumping up and running off down the other side of the hill to where we'd come from. I quickly ran after her and followed her to a huge field full of long grass.
*Lily's POV*
I was so glad he liked the hill and I was now in a bouncy-happy mood. I skipped along a few steps into the field and then turned around and gestured for Adam to follow. He ran up next to me and pulled me further into the field by my hand.
When we were both out of breath from running and laughing we walked along hand in hand through the field. This was getting to be the best day ever.
We got to the other end of the field and through the thin layer of trees at the end of it and through onto a tiny beach.
There was no one here, I don't think anyone knew it was here. Very distantly I could hear kids laughing from the big beach a while down the coast. We sat down on the sand and looked out at the water. The sun was just beginning to set and was glistening off the sea.
'This is beautiful!' Adam said happily, looking over at me and smiling adorably. I smiled back and I could feel myself blushing. I had never brought anyone here before, or to the hill, they were places that as a child i spent a lot of time at, but by myself, and they meant a lot to me. I think Adam realised how much this meant to me because he took his hand out of mine and wrapped me up in a hug.
'Thankyou for bringing me here, I've had a really really good time today!' he said, pulling back to look at me.
'I've have a really nice time too,' I replied, laying my head back on his shoulder. We were quiet for a few minutes just looking out at the beautiful view.
'Can i ask you something?' Adam asked, sounding a bit nervous.
'Of course,' I replied curiously.
'Well, I was wondering if you... wanted to, you know officially, ...Do you want to go out with me?' he eventually asked. I sat up to look at him and he looked back nervously.
'Do you really mean that?' I asked, checking this wasn't all some big joke, he nodded. I broke out into a huge grin.
'Yes! Of course, I'd love to!' I squeaked as i leaned over to hug him. He hugged me back and let out a breath he had been holding with a little nervous laugh. We hugged tight for a couple of minutes and then he leaned down and kissed me.
This definitely was, the best day of my life. I tugged him up by the hand and we ran out to the sea hand in hand. We laughed and splashed about waist deep in the water until the sun went down. I wrapped my arms around Adam's neck and pulled myself up tall enough to kiss him again. I don't think I'd ever been this happy.
