The Boy Next Door

chapter 2 : first day of school

I wake with a start and glance at my clock. 5:59am. Typical. I debate going back to sleep but it ticks over to 6:00am and I lean over and switch off my alarm. I sit up and yawn, but oddly I feel watched. I narrow my eyes and trudge over to my window, and (as I expected) Austin's stood in his room staring at my window and looks relieved when I pull up my blinds and open it.
"You alright there mate? Playing peeping tom are we?" I tease.
"Er, well, no. I'm starting your school and I'm not sure where it is exactly..." he trails off and I have to suppress my giggles. He's new Kacey how can you expect him to know his way around already? Give the guy a break.
"Aww, it's alright, I'll show you"
he smirked again and winked.
"Thanks babe, I owe ya"
"Ew, I don't even know you, don't call me babe!" I pull a disgusted face and he pulls his hand to his heart dramatically.
"Babe you really hurt my feelings" Ooh I swear if he calls me babe again I'll...
"Bye Austin." I say shortly and shut the window. And just so he doesn't get any ideas I close the blinds.
I jump in the shower and relax at the feeling of the hot water just washing away all the grime. I did my best thinking when I was in the shower, and it was normally about math as I particularly suck at math and it takes a lot of work to be where I am now.

I pull up into the school's car-park and I feel everyone's eyes on me. I know instantly it's because I have a hot new guy in my car, but I sit tight, determined not to let it get to me. I park up and he jumps out the car, only to instantly be swarmed by all the hoebags of the school just flinging themselves at him. He seems a bit flustered and backs away. I'd help but I never did do well in the spotlight, so I just grab my bag and head into school.
"Kacey. I saw you driving into school with a hot guy. Did you kidnap him?" Anna cackles and her cronies laugh along with her. OMG I'm not in the mood for this today. I storm past them and head toward my locker. I was too tired to fight back so I just decided to avoid them for the rest of the day. To be honest it would probably be easier than being suspended.
"Kaceeeeey why are you ignoring meeeee?" Anna moaned. I kept my face in my locker pretending to be searching for something when I felt someone grab my arm. I turned around ready to slap but I saw that it was Zara. I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Hey Kace, what's up? You've only been in school 5 minutes and you already look exasperated." I look at her with that kind of 'do you even have to ask?' look and she looks over at Anna.
"That bitch"
The girl knows me so well. I grin and turn back to my locker.
"Soooooooo...?" I knew exactly what she was about to ask me.
"He moved in next door a couple of days ago, and he wasn't sure on his surroundings so I agreed to take him to school for the first week so he could get his bearings." I explain.
"What's his name?"
"Austin Cole"
"Ooh, looks hot, sounds hot, well then!"
I glare at her then laugh. That was typical Zara. I knew she wasn't being too serious. She already had a major crush on Joey Smart, prankster of the school, and I knew that wasn't going away any time soon.

It got to final period and I was amused to find that Austin was in my class, along with Joey and a couple of the other jocks, Lewis & Jason (goes by Jay) Stone, the hot twins of the school. Typical cliché, the new, hot bad boy is already best mates with the 3 most popular boys in the school.

"Kacey. Psst, Kacey! KACEY!"
I could hear him whisper/shouting across the room, but this was biology and I seriously needed to listen if I had any chance of ever becoming a paediatrician like I wanted to.
All of a sudden something sharp poked into the side of my head.
"Ow!" I exclaim quietly. I look up from my book to see its a paper aeroplane. I didn't even need to open it to know it was from Austin. I move it and carry on working, and I can hear (metaphorically) him frowning. I giggled silently. I'd see him in like 5 minutes, why couldn't it wait? I shot at glare at him and went back to working. Stupid boys.

The Bell rang at last and I jumped up from my seat shoving my books in my bag as I walked out to the car-park. Next thing I know I'm being lifted up into the air, kicking and screaming. I know instantly that it's Austin. He carries me all the way to my my car and finally puts me down. Breathless from screaming I look up at him and scowl. He smirks and goes "don't you ever ignore me again little lady." Little lady, pah, I've grown an inch, I'm now 5:6".
"Leave it out Cole, just get in the car."
"I like 'em fiesty" he winks slipping into the car. Ugh I am too tired for this!

I slump down into my bed the minute I get home. The journey was all kinds of torture, with Austin never shutting up, and the lights turning red whenever I got to them. I shut my eyes and layed back...

Next thing I know there's loud music throbbing through my head. What the fudge is going on?" I look at the clock. 10:37pm. Well I slept for a long time. I zombie walk over to the window only to see that Austin is having a house party. Of course, popular guy, he's expected to throw them. I realise this is going to be a problem for me. I groan and shut the blinds and the curtains trudging back over to my bed.

I'm awoken yet again by a loud thump coming from inside my room. It's now 2:00am and I squint as my eyes adjust to the darkness, desperately trying to work out what the heck is going on, when I see as figure near my window...
"OMG Austin?!"
"Hey chica" he smirks before jumping back out my window and back through his. What the fudge was he doing in my room at 2am?!
I walk over to my window yet again and lean out.
"Oi you grassholes, would someone care to tell me what the fudge is going on here?!" I yell, and the 3 boys from earlier and Austin come over to window and begin climbing over to me.
"Well 'ello there gorgeous, and who might you be?" This was Lewis.
"I'm, um. Kacey." He gestures for me for continue. "O'Conner. Kacey O'Conner."
"Well Kacey O'Connor it's nice to meet you!" I pause. OMG these guys really don't know me.
"Er, you guys know I go to your school right..?"
"Really? How can I have overlooked a face like yours beautiful?"
A lot of throwing up noises and kissy noises were coming from the boys behind and I honestly just wanted the floor to swallow me whole.
"Save the flirting for another time mate, we got a party to get back to!" Joey yells.
"Hey, you guys still never told me why Austin was in my room!?"
And I soon got my answer as I see something swinging from in between his fingers...
OMG IT WAS MY BRA!!!!
"What the actual fudge man, give it back!!!" I half yell half scream. But he just smirks and flings it actual cross the room.
Grr, I'll get you back for this Cole, if it's the last thing I do...
