Rae'lynn

My alarm jolted me out of my sleep. It was currently 8:00 in the morning and my flight left at 10:00.

I jumped up and went into the shower. I hummed along to my playlist on shuffle and soon got out. I lotioned and put my undergarments. When I fly, I like to be comfortable. Therefore, I put on black leggings, a plain white tee and "Oreo" Jordan's. I threw my curly hair into a messy bun and did very minimal makeup. I mean, I still have to be presentable.

I did one last check to make sure I had everything I needed. I knew I brought enough clothes and toiletries. I checked my purse last.
Phone, check. iPad, check. Chargers, check. Once I was sure, I lugged everything downstairs.

Being the safety freak I was, I went in every room to make sure that everything was off. When my mind was at ease, I went back to the front and opened the door to start packing my car.

I went to the couch to get my purse real quick and when I went back to start loading my car, my bags were gone. For a second, I freaked out in my head but then I looked up.

There stood Chris smiling that breathtaking smile. Why was he so fine? He had put my bags in his Range Rover already. I closed and locked my door and went to stand in front of him. I crossed my arms over my chest and sighed.

"What are you doing here?" My eyes squinted because of the morning sun.

"Why else would I be here? You didn't think I would let you leave LA without saying bye did you?" He raised his eyebrows.

"The thought never crossed my mind because I didn't care." I walked past him and hopped in the truck.

A minute later, he got in the driver's side and made the way to the airport. I turned up the radio because I wasn't going to talk and I hate awkward silence.

As soon as I took my hand away, he goes and turns the radio off.

"You're a kid, I swear." I rolled my eyes.

"It's my car, baby girl. Plus I might have wanted to talk to you."

"Chris, there's nothing to talk about. You don't want to go. Whatever."

"I never said I didn't want to go, I can't go."

I looked at him and rolled my eyes. I mumbled a 'mhm' and scrolled through my phone.

I wasn't even mad. Well maybe a little, but I'm mostly disappointed. I mean, even though I was scared, I didn't hesitate to meet Chris' family. My family means the world to me and being with me, you have to understand that. I think that they would love Chris because I do. Anytime it comes to me though, anything I want to do, he's busy or tired. Get out of here dude.

After what felt like forever, we finally reached the airport. I would have preferred to go in by myself but I didn't feel like arguing so I just let him help me.

I hate airports. I'm just an impatient person and nothing takes longer than going through bag checks and metal detectors. I swear it took like eight hours. I guess the annoyance was strong on my face because Chris kept making fun of me. Nothing was funny and I really didn't like him at the moment.

We got through everything and we're now waiting for them to call my flight. I occasionally sipped on my drink and Chris just sat there staring at me.

"Do I have something on my face or are you just a weirdo?" I glanced over at him.

"So you really ain't gonna say shit?" He ignored my question.

"Okay, I don't know if you're having a slow morning or you just simply aren't understanding. There. Is. Nothing. To. Talk. About." My voice laced with attitude.
