ANAHI'S POV

"It's going to be lonely here without Kellin." Mrs.Quinn said, pouring coffee into a mug and giving it to me.

"It already is." I mumbled, blowing into my mug after her.

"True." She lowered her head as she stirred her coffee.

I nodded and stared at my coffee. "May I ask you something?" I questioned politely.

"Sure." She replied.

"How did you feel about Kellin leaving for a month?" I asked.

She took a moment of silence and stared at the floor. "I know some parents might see me as a bad mother for letting my son travel across the country without me but the more I thought about it, the more I just had to let Kellin go. Kellin's passion for music was there since he was born. He absolutely loved singing as a toddler." A smile pulled on Mrs.Quinn's lips. "The band is Kellin's life. He and the others have worked so hard to get to where they are now and I'm incredibly proud of them. When they first told me about the tour, my first answer was absolutely not. I said no until he reached legal age and Kellin was so disappointed. He didn't talk to me for days and ate in his room. I didn't realize how much music meant to him until I heard them play a couple of months ago. You could just see the happiness and the amount of work he puts into the band. That was the moment where I couldn't see Kellin doing anything else but music. What type of mother would I be if I kept him from his own happiness?

"That same night I spoke to him and he told me 'This band means everything to me. Writing music has been the only thing that has pulled me out of the dark.'." Mrs.Quinn took a deep breath and stared at nothing before she spoke up again. "Kellin has been through so much at such a young age and for him to tell me that?" She shook her head and took another sip from her coffee as I listened intently. "I always told Kellin to do what his heart wanted and music was what his heart wanted. Who was I to stop him? Even if it hurts me, I just had to let him live his life. I already lived mine, now is his turn. If he wants to spend his life doing music, I'll be right behind him to support him."

"Wow. That's honestly amazing. My mother would've never done that. But if I was a parent, I would've done the same thing you did... I admire it." I said truthfully. She smiled sweetly and raised her coffee mug in the air.

"I know. I miss him so much and he's only been gone for a couple of days." I tugged on my hair and stared up at the ceiling.

"Is he at his hotel yet?" Kevin asked, eating the remainder of cookies he brought.

"I don't know. Maybe but he's obviously too busy to worry about stupid, plain old me." I said, disappointed Kellin hadn't called me yet since he first left.

"Dude chill. He probably passed out from the flight and shows. He's probably exhausted." Kevin assured.

"Yea, probably is." I agreed. The moment I closed my eyes and tried to forget about it, my phone rang. Without hesitation I jumped over Kevin on the floor and answered my phone. "Hello?!" I said a little too eagerly.

"Hey babe. Do you want to go to a party tonight?" To my dismay, it was Jason's voice speaking through my speaker. He came back this Monday morning and had been unpacking all day. Kevin gave me an apologetic look after seeing my expression.

"Oh um. Actually... Kevin is really sick right now and I couldn't just leave him alone like this." I lied without hesitation. Kevin raised his head slowly and gave me a what-the-hell-are-you-talking-about look. I pleaded with my hands and he rolled his eyes as he began to dramatically cough his lungs out.
