Chapter 13 - Close her eyes.
"Um..mother" I gulped faintly, my jaw unable to move as I stared at the state of the room, this had to be unreal, nobody could have vandalized it so quickly.
Unbearable, unimaginable.
"How th-" Mother spoke as resting her elbow onto my shoulder, "Abigail what on earth ha- Where is the briefcase? Abigail Where is it!?" She uttered shaking me unsteadily as if she waited for me to confess my guiltiness. "You know how much that meant to be Abs, it was the only mark I had left of your father. Now that that's gone, I can finally accept your father's departure. He's gone Abi, he's gone-e" She trailed, whilst howling loudly against my chest.
"Don't worry, some knives and blades won't be the only mark of Father but also the death of the chief. It's not long til he's ceased and we're released." I addressed, imagining myself reciting this to the villagers followed by a river of applause.
