I woke up the next morning to the smell of bacon and toast. "It... It must've all been a nightmare..." I thought aloud. I didn't bother to get dressed since it was so early. About 5:00 in the morning, actually. I headed downstairs in my blue nightgown. Wait... I lived alone. So... Who was cooking? That's when I snapped back to reality. "Crap. It wasn't a nightmare." I muttered. "What was that, Rosalynn?" Jack asked, his eyebrows raised. "N...Nothing. Nothing at all." "That's what I thought." He was wearing my cooking apron while making bacon, eggs, waffles, and toast. "That's quite a big breakfast for two people..." I stated quietly. He looked at me with bright, white eyes. "For two MORTALS, sure. For a demon of my sort, which I am the only one, by the way, it is actually a very small breakfast. Especially when you're sharing." He replied. I nodded, forgetting that he was not a human like me. Jack put all of the different foods on the table and got some OJ. (Orange juice for all you non- believers.) We spent most of breakfast just... staring at each other. I left the table after eating a few pieces of bacon and a waffle. I went up to my room again and got dressed. "Sigh..." I was lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling when I heard a knock at the door. "Um... Come in?" I uttered, surprised that LJ would knock. He came in with that sick smile on his face. "I'm going out to... Do some 'errands.' I'll see you later, okay Rosalynn?" "Okay..." That was the last I saw of him for at least 6 hours. I was just making an early lunch when I saw some more smoke seeping under the door. "What the..." I was cut short when the smoke changed shape. "LAUGHING JACK?" I accidentally shouted. He seemed surprised at first, but then he just laughed his maniacal laughter. "HAHAHA! How did you NOT notice that it was me? This is the second time I've done it! Heehee! Ahh, you're funny." I was blushing now, embarrassed by his taunting. I quickly ran upstairs and locked myself in the bathroom. "Well... Might as well take a shower now that I'm here." I whispered to myself while getting a towel from the rack. Just as I was about to slip off my clothes, I felt eyes goring into the back of my head. I slowly turned around, coming face to face with a boy no younger than me. He had deep cuts going through his cheeks in the form of a smile and ashy eyelids. He pulled out a knife and put it against my neck. I screamed and heard Jack rushing up the stairs as I felt the knife getting closer to my throat...
