Lucy
I can't believe he actually... ugh! He's so stupid that it's too cute to resist.
When Natsu fell asleep with me in his arms, it took me about half an hour to get him to the floor besides his shoes. He didn't budge from there on. I left him there with a blanket to take a shower. I came back and he was still asleep on the floor without a care in the world. I sighed but I really didn't want to wake him up so I grabbed a whole bunch of pillows (had to call room service for five more giant body pillows) and made this little bed for him. Salamander did stir once or twice but when I went to bed, he was snoring his head off.
Now, it's 4:30 AM. I had woke up, completely lost no thanks to this twelve hour jet lag. I changed into a simple white t-shirt and some sweats along with my new team's hoodie. I left the bedroom and found that Natsu was still asleep in the same exact place I left him.
Unbelievable... if this hotel were to explode, he'd be caught up in the middle of it all.
Sighing, I crouched down, my finger poking his cheek twice, "Natsu..."
He grumbled but didn't open his eyes.
"Natsu," I poked his cheek twice more. "Come on. We have to meet the others in half an hour for breakfast."
"I don't wanna..." he said barely.
"Natsu."
"Nah, I don't wanna, Papa," Natsu was dreaming. Dreaming about... his dad? Igneel was his father's name, right? He did mention his dad was no longer with him so I always assumed that his dad had passed away.
That's when I realize something. Other than his personality, I know absolutely nothing about Natsu's past or family. He never mentioned a mother or having any siblings but I always took it that he came from a rich family since he was arranged to marry Lisanna. She's from an extremely rich family, the Strauss' furniture are the trendiest and must have furniture in all households, offices, hotels, etc.
Then, what's Natsu's family like? Better question: if Lisanna were to call off their engagement just like that, would it enrage whoever is the head of Natsu's family's company? Would I be a target of a hired gunman for ruining a once and a lifetime engagement?
Just the thought of that made me shiver. And learning about Natsu's history/family is for some other time. I'm actually absolutely okay if I never had to learn about his past. I guess I'm done with all the drama that could revolve around it to risk it. Natsu and I are 'in progress' right now. That's the furthest we've gotten since five months ago. I'm not about to lose it.
I poked his cheek, "Come on, Natsu."
"I said five more minutes!" he grumbled louder.
Sudden banging came, knocking me over with surprise. Shortly after three bangs, an almost angry growl came through, "Natsu! Lucy! You two better be up!"
And just like that, his dragon eyes shot open. His whole body shot up as he ran to the door and opened it, "M-morning Erza."
"It's good to know you're awake," I could see her crossing her arms but Natsu's body covered her face. "Now hurry, you have fifteen minutes... Lucy?"
I sat up straighter, "Yes?"
"Why are you sitting on the floor?" I still couldn't see her face. "With a whole bunch of pillows?"
"Oh uh," I looked at Natsu's homemade bed. "It's Natsu's bed."
"Natsu's bed?"
"Uh huh," I stood up, finally able to meet my captain's eyes. "He fell asleep and wouldn't move so I made him a bed out of about ten pillows and a blanket."
