Lucy

Erza and Levy showed up around lunchtime while I was binge watching Hawaii 5-0 and eating the ice cream I had leftover from the last night sleepover. (Erza knew where I hid the spare.)

They didn't say anything at first. Only sat down with their spoons and helped me finish the tub of mint chocolate chip, rooting on Steve McGarett's fight with Wo Fat, his arch nemesis.

It wasn't until the final theme song came on did Erza dropped her spoon and wiped her hands with a napkin.

"We're waiting," she said simply.

Levy continued eating but she muted the TV to make me the center of attention without any noise or anything to distract them.

"Natsu," my voice cracked just as I said his name. "He's just confus-"

"No he's not!" Levy shouted suddenly but in a softer voice she continued. "What he did to you is completely unforgivable."

Erza reached over me and softly tapped Levy's hand, "But to know the unforgivable thing he did to you, we need to know what he did first."

"I don't care," Levy grumbled. "He hurt my Lu-chan. That's enough to make me want to read some old English play just to make his head hurt."

Erza rolled her eyes, "So! Lucy, will you please tell us why you are sitting at home in the middle of a school day eating ice cream? You even forgot your book bag."

She pointed at the bag leaning against the side of the coach, "What happened?"

"Natsu is just confused right now," I repeated ignoring the groan from Levy. "Everything is alright. I wasn't feeling well from the cold so I came home to rest, that's all."

"Listen to yourself," I could feel the Captain's annoyance slowly coming. "You came home to avoid the cold yet you're eating a giant tub of ice cream without shivering once."

Dammit...

Levy sighed, "Lu, Lisanna told us everything..."

Lisanna? She wasn't even in class or even school when the whole thing went down. How did she figure out what was happening anyway?

A memory filled my vision. I did see someone sticking behind one of the pillars at the entrance as I turned to run. I just didn't bother staying to find out who it was because I was pretty upset and disoriented with what Natsu said. So Lisanna was able to hear everything, huh. Fairy Tail's been doing a good job with keeping their mouths shut about the hidden feelings Natsu and I had for each other from Lisanna but I guess she found out this way...

I need to apologize but I wasn't allowed to go to practice today so I could pack and rest up for tomorrow's flight to Colorado. I couldn't go, same with the rest of the four chosen ones for this Allied Force Team.

So that means...

"Let me clean up a bit," I sighed. "I'll go back for the rest of the day."

"That's not what we wanted you to...do," Levy glanced at Erza quickly, asking for reassurance. "We were just here to comfort you just in case you get too lonely."

I shook my head, "I already missed four of my morning classes plus the mountain of homework I was supposed to get before we left tomorrow. Plus, I need to apologize to Lisanna."

"I don't think you need to apologize to anyone, Lucy," Titania said. "She seemed a little sad when she told us but then she said something about destroying the arranged marriage afterwards but that was to herself."

I stopped standing up. Whipping around I faced the captain, "What did you say?"

"She mumbled something about destroying a marriage so I only assumed it was her engagement to Natsu," Erza repeated.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I panted, totally unattractive but every time I saw Lisanna in a class, she'd be gone the minute the bell rang like a woman on a mission. I was lucky I caught her at her locker, quickly emptying out her book bag ready to go home. I weaved through the crowd and called her name just as she closed her locker.
Lisanna looked at me with those big blue eyes, surprised, "Lucy."
I was bent over, catching my breath from running all the way from the third floor of the opposite building to the basement in this building. For a striker, it should be easy. But I'm still the most out of shape person on the planet!
"What you heard earlier," I said, standing up. "D-don't pay it any mind!"
"What do you mean?"
"Erza told me," I slowed my breathing by the mental 1,2 in my mind. I made sure I completely caught my breath before I told her, "The conversation you heard between Natsu and me earlier. Just please forget it ever happened."
She shook her head slowly, "No, that's the last thing I want to do with what I heard."
"Lisanna..."
"No, Lucy," Lisanna said sternly. "I'm your friend, remember? I want to stay your friend for years and years to come."
"But you love him," I protested.
"So do you," she sighed.
"Yeah but," I bit my lip, thinking of an excuse.
"Lucy," she grabbed my shoulders. "I might love Natsu. But I love being your friend as well. I just don't think that because of some guy, our friendship should be ruined."
"Then I shouldn't be with him either," I replied.
Lisanna shook her head again, "No. He's yours and yours alone."
"How's that even fair?" I demanded. "You've loved this guy for decades. I've only known for no more than half a year!"
"Just please Lucy," Lisanna's blue eyes rippled with determination. "I know he's going to be ten times happier with you than with me. We both want that for him, I know. Am I sad? Sure, but I can get over being sad. If he were to marry me, than it's nothing but him living his days out without being happy. He needs you in his life, Lucy. It's only been half a day and he's become Satan's spawn. Broke three girls' hearts with harsh words, you know. One he didn't even say anything but walk away."
"But," I started. "What about your family?"
"I'm going to talk to my uncle and aunt about it tomorrow," Lisanna smiled. "Don't worry about me. What you need to do is do everything you can to get your man back and this time," she winked at me. "Make sure you don't 'let him go', alright?"
