Chris’ POV

I couldn’t help feeling worried about PJ. We were sitting in the waiting room of the Doctor’s and PJ was wrapped up in a blanket that he insisted on bringing with him, it was a Pokémon blanket that his Mum had bought him back from Japan when he was little, she had to go on a business trip there. PJ was sleeping and that was okay, but he got called in and that made him jump and he awoke. “We’re ready for you now” said the nice nurse. She looked at me as if to say “it is okay if you come to” I smiled and nodded to say thank you and I helped PJ up, he gave me his blanket and we went into the office to be greeted by a very friendly looking Italian Doctor named ‘Enrique Abandonato’ or as we knew him, Dr. Abandonato, he was in his early thirty’s, so I knew PJ would be comfortable talking to a younger Doctor. We sat down.

“Now, PJ, why don’t you-ah, tell me what it is that is wrong?”

I interrupted Dr. Abandonato.

“Sorry, Doctor, but PJ’s very weak and he told me this morning that he’d feel better if I did all of the talking today”

“Oh, well of course, but I may need to know some things that only PJ himself knows, but it is okay for you to do most of the talking, so what is wrong?”

“Well, we were out for the entire day the other day and PJ had told me that he wasn’t feeling too good that morning, he was having headaches but he thought that it was just because he hadn’t slept the night before, normally if he’s stayed up late or not gone to sleep at all then he gets headaches, but gradually the headaches got worse, even after he had been asleep soundly all night”

Dr. Abandonato nodded and hummed in agreement. He started taking notes.

“Any other symptoms?”

“Yes, he’s been complaining that his eyes are playing tricks”

“What sort of tricks?”

“Seeing.... Seeing double” PJ puffed.

Dr. Abandonato looked at him; he looked as though he knew exactly what was going on. PJ hadn’t told me what Mrs. Deri had told him what she thought, but he had been acting very scared and different since then.

“Anything else going on, Chris?” I was looking at PJ when Dr. Abandonato asked me that, I turned back to him and carried on talking.

“He’s been feeling sick and dizzy, too”

“Right, right. Well, PJ, I think what I’m going to have to do is refer you to a hospital,  you’re going to have to go and have an MRI scan, but don’t worry, they’re very safe and hopefully we’ll be able to find out just what’s going on” Dr. Abandonato sounded very sympathetic whilst he sent an e-mail to the hospital. My heart sank. An MRI scan? What did he need an MRI scan for? Was this serious? We sat there in silence while Dr. Abandonato finished e-mailing the hospital.

“Right, your appointment is booked for tomorrow at 11:30am at Only Hope hospital, you’ll have to be there half an hour in advance to get changed into the right clothing, the scan can  go on for normally anywhere between 15 to 40 minutes, but don’t worry, they’re very safe and all you have to do is lie completely still inside the machine, and you can have your friend here by your side at all times and he is allowed to talk while you’re in there, you will have a little microphone  that you can press to talk, but when you’re in there obviously you will have to lie completely still, but Chris here will still be able to talk to you.” He smiled rather cheesily and I thanked him, he gave PJ his appointment card which he struggled to clasp and we went on our way.
