Author's note: this one's a really long one i-

"Good luck on your first day, honey!" Luke's mother called out as he sprinted out the door, having only fifteen minutes to spare before the bell rings.

He had forgotten to set an alarm the night before and ended up waking a tad later than he had planned, leaving him with insufficient amount of time to get dressed.

Luke simply threw on his favourite band t-shirt with his ripped skinny jeans and a pair of gray Vans, not forgetting to grab his school bag on the way out in hurry. Fortunately, the school was a three-minute walk away and having extremely long legs, Luke was definitely at an advantage.

Not long after, Luke halted by the school gate and panted heavily, trying to catch his breath. He started to walk into the school compound, heading for the office to retrieve his time table as the boy earned curious looks from the other students, smiling slight at some but silently dreading the attention he was drawing with his presence.

Luke was used to it though, having people stare at him all the time back in Sydney, numerous girls flirting with him everyday for his attention.

He was definitely a head turner with gorgeous, pale blue eyes, dirty blonde hair, a piercing on the left corner of his lower lips, a fit figure and a tall height. It's not a surprise the boys were envious of him and the girls were attracted to him.

But he never enjoyed the attention. Their stares were enough to make him uncomfortable and fidgety. If their eyes had lasers, Luke would have had holes all over his body from their intense stares. As a matter of fact, he could have disappeared by now.

Luke's eyes scanned his time table as he looked around to find the class for homeroom. He heard quiet footsteps coming towards him and he shifted his gaze towards the sound, tilting his head a little at a familiar face.

The girl smiled at him, hugging a small stack of books to her chest.

"New student?" She questioned, flashing him a grin and peeked at Luke's time table as he nodded, dumbfounded.

"I'll show you your locker first." The girl suggested, opening the locker next to her and neatly placed her books inside. She closed her locker, still grinning as she held her hand out for a handshake.

"Hi, I'm Cassidy. Cassidy Brooks. We're neighbours." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as Luke took her hand in his and gave it a gentle shake.

"Yeah, I noticed. I'm Luke Hemmings." He flashed a polite grin and retrieved his hand.

Cassidy craned her neck slightly and let out a soft laugh, letting her hand drop to her side. "I like your accent."

Luke chuckled, nodding understandingly. "Thanks. I like yours."

He glanced back at his time table and looked back up at her, asking quietly as they walked to his locker, "Where's homeroom?"

She pointed to the left corner of the corridor and replied. "Not very far. It's okay, Mr. Evans is always tardy."

She looked up at him, taking into note that their height difference would definitely be a problem in conversing as she had to tilt her head back so much, she could break her neck. Luke flashed his signature grin at her as she returned it with a smile.

They stopped in front of a locker as she nudged his side with her elbow. "716, right? The vacant lockers are usually unlocked."

Luke swung his locker door open and hummed. "Are we allowed to do anything we want to our lockers?"
