Chapter 25

Ethan's POV
I left the house, i can't stand it there anymore. I'm a disappointment to the family. The twins will go far in life, but i'll end up doing nothing. I feel bad for making my mum cry, I didn't mean to. I care about her a lot, more then she'll ever know. I wish i was still close with Dad, I could always go to him if i had any problems. It's a different story now though, I don't want to ever bother him.

Thats why I'm just walking around outside now. It's already dark and I'm freezing, i didn't think to bring anything with me.

I look at my phone for the time
2 new messages
From: Dad
We are sorry, please come home. We want to talk to you and help you. It our fault you feel like this. I love you son!

From: Mia
Your mum and dad are worried, I get it if you don't want to talk to them. I can come and meet you if you want, you can always talk to me xx

I decided to ignore my dad's message. Instead I decide to reply to Mia.

Meet me at the blue bench by school please xx

I press send and begin to walk towards the school. I sit down on the bench and wait for Mia.

She soon comes and sits next to me. "That didn't take you long" I laugh. "I know" she smiled. "Couldn't wait to see me?" I said jokingly "something like that" she laughs.

"So whats up, tell me whats wrong. It's not great seeing your best friend cry" She says. "Life is shit, I don't make anyone happy. I can't do anything right, I'm stupid and just don't fit in anywhere" I say on the verge of tears. "Ethan, you fit in at school. You're popular, you have loads of friend! Plus you make people happy. You make me happy!" She says.

I can't help but smile at the last bit. "I don't class any of those people friends though, they all come and go. You are the only friend who has always been here for me" I begin to cry. I hated to cry in front of people. Mia pulls me into a hug. "Ethan if I'm being honest, I've always liked you. You're smart, I don't care what you say. You are! Harley and Poppy look up to you! You make your mum and dad proud all the time ok?" she says. I smile at her.

"You know how to make me smile, I always used to have a thing for you and now i can see way" i felt my cheeks go red. She smiled. "Well maybe i've always had a thing for you too but never wanted to tell you" did she really just day that? I can't help myself I just lean in and kiss her.

"I'm sorry I don't know what came over me-" I'm cut off by her lips against mine. We both pull away. "Thank you for everything, you always make me smile and I'm always here for you aswell!" I tell her. "Your mum and dad are worried about you, how about we go back to mine and my dad will drive you back home, we'll even come in with you if you want?" She says.

"You are so freaking cute, and yeah please" I smirk. "You know you should try and be nice to your mum, my mum is always telling me how you were the best thing that ever happened to her, and your dad!" She smiles. "You're right, I need to actually grow up and try my best to make them proud!" We stand up and begin to walk to Mia's. Just before she opens the door she says "you promise me if things get hard, you'll call me text me rather then running off" I grab her hand "of course, thank you mia" I let go of her hand as we walk into her house.

Shay rushes towards me and hugs me. "God Ethan, everyone has been so worried about you!" "I'm sorry" I tell her. "Drew is going to take you home ok?" she tells me. I just nod.

I get in the car with Drew. "Ethan, your dad cares a lot about you. He was crying down the phone going out of his mind tonight" he tells me. "I just needed to get out, I'm going to apologise" I then go on to explain how I felt and Drew says "Ethan, things will get better and your mum and dad are really going to try and help you feel better aswell!"

We get out of the car and knock on the door. Drew pats me back and says "you've got this, i'm going to get going". I hear his car pull away. My mum answers the door. She looks so happy, i just hug her and keep telling her I'm sorry. Harley and Poppy come running up to us and join the hug "I missed you ethan" harley tells me. "Missed you too little man, but now I'm back". Me and my mum sort things out and both say sorry. "Your dad is upstairs go and see him" she says.

I walk into their room, I can tell he's been crying. I go and hug him "thank you dad for everything you do for me and I know you care about me I'm just an idiot. But i promise from now on i'm going to try my best at everything and make you all proud" i tell him. "You already make us proud big man! Me and your mum are also going to try and make you happier ok? Group effort?" He says. I nod.

As i walk out the room he says "oh and by the way we are going to a game on friday so make sure your in football spirit!" I was so shocked "really? Thank you. I love you" i tell him. It was nice to be back like this.

We've all gone to bed now, just before I try to sleep i ring Mia.
E- hey, thank you for tonight. You made me think about everything and I would love it if we could meet up more
M- thats ok and yeah i'd like that. I really do like you ethan
E- well i like you too! How about we go to the cinema tomorrow? I'll pay
M- sounds good. Thank you
E- anyway get some sleep and i can't wait to see you tomorrow
M-night ethan

I hang up and just lay there thinking about Mia. She made me so happy, I think I actually loved her. What am i supposed to do though, our families are best friends and they might not like it. But I'm happy around Mia and i can't hide my feelings, I want her to be my girlfriend and I want everyone to know about it.
