BEEP

BEEP

BEEP

‘Err just shut up already stupid beeping noise’ I thought to myself. I lay in a very uncomfortable bed with pain all over my body. I felt some stuff on my face and on my hand and wondered what Eammon was up to now. I heard a door open and close and heels click on the floor, followed by the squeak of wet shoes over linoleum. I listened a little more and heard rain pattering on the window. The window in the room didn’t usually have glass in them, allowing the cold winter air to drift in and freeze me.

“She’s been out for a couple of days now; I wouldn’t be surprised if she could hear us now.” A lady said. Oh no! Don’t tell me Eammon brought in another woman to hurt.

“Do you know when she’ll wake up?” Wait, that’s Claudia’s voice. What was she doing here? ‘Claudia, get out when you can!’ I yelled in my head, hoping she’d hear but of course she wouldn’t.

“No, sorry. She might wake up in the next day or so or maybe not ever at all.” I heard Claudia gasp and something touched my hand.

“Sum-Sum, you need to wake up, honey,” Emmanuel’s voice rung through my ears, “Please, for Lenny and Claudia and me. We need you to be okay and wake up so we can talk to you and you can respond.” I felt him squeeze my hand and kiss my forehead.

*Claudia’s POV*

We got off the plane and went straight to the hospital that Lenny had told me she was in. We got in a cab and told him the address. I got a call from Lenny. I answered it,

“Got any good news?” I asked straight away.

“Well hello there to you too. And no, I don’t have any. Well, she is healing at an alarming rate which is good but it’ll be better if you hear everything else from her nurse. There are quite a lot of injuries. How far away are you?” He asked.

“We got out of the airport about five minutes ago and are in a cab at the moment and on our way to the hospital now. Are you at the hospital?” I asked.

“No, not at the moment. I’m with Justice, practicing and stuff. Call me when you get there and I’ll see if John and I can come in. Only if you want that though, I\'m sure you want some alone time with her.\" He sounded sincere and it would be good for him to be there.

\"Yeah, that\'ll be good. I\'ll call you later. Bye.\" I hung up and turned to Emmanuel. He looked pretty nervous.

\"What\'s wrong?\" I asked him.

\"I don\'t know if I\'ll be able to see Sumer like this. She sounds pretty beaten up.\" He replied.

\"I\'m sure she\'s fine.\" I assured him. It sounded like I needed to reassure myself as well. I was scared too. What if she has a permanently scarred face and people say once you\'ve been abused, they become really distant and don\'t like people touching them. At all.

We arrived at the hospital half an hour later and ran to the front desk with our suit cases, since we hadn\'t had time to ditch them at a hotel. It was raining lightly and E-man almost slipped on the wet tiles.

\"Summer Rodriguez.\" Emmanuel asked the woman at the front desk.

\"Family?\" She asked looking up from her desk, \"Um, Summer, I thought you were unconscious. You need to get back to your room.\" She told me, looking at me funny.

\"Err, I\'m her twin sister, actually.\" I told her, \"What room?\" I had to keep myself from yelling at her. I was frustrated with her for wasting my time.

\"Well,\" She said, typing something in her computer, \"A nurse is on her way up there right now,\" A nurse walked past us, coming in from her dinner break, I\'m guessing and the lady yelled out to her. She turned and took one look at me before scolding,

\"Summer, what are you doing up?\" She yelled at me.

\"I\'m actually Claudia, her twin sister.\" I replied. Her face softened and she told us to follower her because she was going up there. The receptionist told us we could leave our bags behind the desk and we followed the lady to the elevator. She pressed a button and we went up. E-man\'s shoes kept squeaking on the wet floor as we walked up the corridor to her room.

We walked through the door and the nurse told us she\'s been out for a couple of day, already. I looked at Summer\'s small figure on the hospital bed. Her face sheet white, a scar running down the length of the right side of her face - from the corner of her eye, down to her chin and disappearing under the covers of the bed. Her hair was messed up and a little wet. They must\'ve washed her. I couldn\'t see anything under her neck but I still wanted to whimper at the  bulge where her leg is, obviously in a cast. One of her arms looked like it had a cast on and her torso was swollen from bandages.

She didn\'t have to share a room, which was good. The nurse said she wouldn\'t be surprised if Summer could hear us now.  I wanted to know of all the injuries, but at the same time, I was scared. I didn\'t really want to know what that sick bastard had done to her

I asked if they knew when she\'d wake up and the nurse said she didn\'t know if she\'ll even wake up.

Emmanuel walked over to the bed, held her hand and whispered something in her ear. My eyes teared up and I bit my fist lightly to stop from sobbing.

Thank you God for bringing my sister home, I don\'t know how I\'ll ever repay you.

So they are now reunited! I sang with joy when I got to write about her getting free and to the hospital!
