“Ugh! Why do you have to be so difficult, you stupid leg?” At the moment, I was sitting on the couch at Solo’s house in Parramatta, it was about six o’clock and I was watching The Hangover. He offered I could stay there since Lenny and John basically live there and Claudia forgot to pay the rent and we got kicked out. All of our stuff was packed in a hired truck while we were searching for a new place. I was trying to get up to get some more banana chips (dehydrated banana for if you didn’t know). I had a large craving for them since my leg in this massive, heavy cast. Solo’s low couch didn’t help the matter at hand as I was struggling to lift myself off the couch.

“Talking to yourself is the one of the first symptoms of insanity, you know.” Solo’s Maori accent filled the room and he chuckled. A massive bag of banana chips landed on my lap and I just sank back on the couch as Solo plopped himself next to me on the couch. I made enough room between us and sighed,

“How’d you know?” I asked, chuckling as I tried to open the packet, and then tried using my teeth.

“Do you think I haven’t noticed the massive piles of empty packets in the bin? I do live here, you know, and I do the cleaning up around here. Unlike SOMEONE who is just too lazy to get off her fat ass and help, like women with no jobs do.” Solo said as Claudia walked into the room.

“Hey! Don’t diss me ass! It’s in perfect shape, as a matter of fact.” She defended her ass. She even proved it by turning her lower body around, looking at it. She shrugged and kept walking, out the door.

“Wonder where she’s going.” I commented, still struggling with the stupid bag.

“Here, allow me, you’ll need those teeth to eat these with.” Solo said, reaching for the packet. I instantly stiffened and shied away from him when his hand brushed mine while grabbing the packet, “Oh, Sum. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” Solo quickly apologised when he noticed me sinking into the corner of the couch, my breathing laboured.

“No it’s fine; I’m just going to have a nap now.” I said, trying to get off the couch again and failing miserably. I finally got up after many minutes of hard work and grabbed my crutches from where they were resting against the couch. Solo passed me the opened packet, dropping it in my hand so he didn’t get too close. I thanked him and said goodnight, hobbling to Lenny’s room. I was staying in Lenny’s room because my sister occupied the guest room. I walked in and John and Lenny had the music pumping and were practicing some new moves. I laughed when I saw them do this move that rolled through their body. They were laughing and being stupid and for a minute, I was jealous. Jealous because I wish I could do that. I wish that I could just be carefree and had those skills.

I walked through to the bathroom to have a quick shower before bed and tied my hair in a high bun, getting it off my back. I looked in the mirror at my reflections. My blue, empty eyes stared back at me, holding no emotions. A scar, running from the corner of my right eye, down my face, down my neck and ending just before my shirt-line was standing out without my make-up covering most of it up. I turned my neck and could see the bandage covering some deeper cuts that still haven’t healed, and have some stitches in them. I poked the bandage and winced as it stung.

I looked back up and saw Lenny standing in the doorway in the reflection of the mirror. I smiled weakly at him and spun around on my good leg.

“Hey. Why didn’t you say you came in here, I didn’t see you come in. Sorry, I was practicing with John.” Lenny said, quietly, smiling at me while walking ever so slowly towards me.

“Yeah, I could see.” I giggled when John poked his head in the door way,

“Hey Summer, how ya doing?” He asked, glancing at my leg and whipping out a sharpie, “Hmm, what should I write?” He asked walking closer and kneeled down in front of me, “Oh! I know!” He quickly scribbled something on my leg and I tried my best to not flinch away from him. With John, I was alright with him coming near me because he looked so similar to Lenny. Lenny obviously saw the pain on my face and stood at my side
