Aspen

Eventually my parents are forced to leave the room, and give me a few minutes of peace, my friends are out of the room doing God knows what, and the counselor is sound asleep in the hallway.

My room hasn't been quiet since I woke up, but now that it is my eyes were starting to drop. I'm surprised I'm so tired, I mean I slept for 2 days straight. Despite my fight to keep my eyes open, my eyes shut and it felt wonderful.

"I let him take my first kiss. Slow and careful. Like little electric shocks."

I snuck out of the cabin, being quiet so I don't wake the girls. A big smile was plastered on my face and I couldn't put it away. I tiptoed off the deck, but as soon as I felt the oh so soft grass on my ankles I sprinted towards the woods.

I keep running until I come to an indent in the trees. I pull back the branches and sneak into my safe haven. I look around. They're not here yet.

I sigh and walk over to the water that was always cold even on the hottest day.

I take off my shoes and place them on the shore so, I don't get them wet. I walk into the water, the sudden cold stinging my feet and ankles. I reach the rock and pull myself up.

I sit on the rock and take a deep breath. The fresh air fills my lungs and the smell of the early morning tickles my nose.

I sit in silence for what felt like hours, but I soon hear the familiar rattle of leaves.

"You're late!" I yell smiling.

"Maybe you're just early!" They yell back.

I jump from the rock and walk out of the water to meet them by the shore.

"I can't believe we're doing this," I say as he hugs me.

I turn in his arms.

I look into the deep blue eyes for the longest time. He looks back at me with love in his eyes. He lifted an eyebrow and laughed.

"What?" I asked smiling.

"Oh nothing," he said pulling away. I hadn't realized he wasn't wearing shoes. Or a shirt. I could feel the blush rising in my face.

"So..." He said dragging out the word. "Last one to the middle is a rotten egg!"

He. Did. Not. That bastard! I don't have the privilege to take my shirt off! I moan and pull my shirt off revealing my bikini top I dont want to show. He's so gonna die.

I jump into the water and swim as fast as I can to where he is. When I reach him he laughs and hugs me.

"You're soo lucky I wore my bathing suit!" I say into his chest.

I feel him laugh. It's resonates through his chest.

I pull away and swim toward the rock that I had been waiting on not too long ago. I hop on and he joins me soon after.

He scoots towards me and pulls me to his chest. I hear him smell my hair and I smile at the thought. We sit like that for a while and I cherish it.

"Aspen?" He asks me suddenly.

"Mhm," I mumble half asleep.

"Thank you."

I'm too tired to look at him, but I raise an eyebrow and mumble into his chest. "For what?"

I feel him laugh under his breath. "For being my girlfriend."
