After I got done packing I threw them down the stairs. "MOM! Can you please put my bags in the car? I still have some things to pack," I shouted down the stairs. My mom came to the stairs and looked up at me, "Did you really have to throw them down the stairs and yell at me? How are you gonna keep a mate if you can't even be nice to your mother?" She said, raising an eyebrow. I huffed loudly and went back into my room.
Why does she keep bring that up? It's not my fault I haven't found him yet. I just shook the thoughts out of my head and looked at my wall of pictures. They were all of me and Paige. I started to tear up until I looked closer at the pictures. In all of them was a boy in the background staring at us.
Why hadn't I seen this before? He could be my mate! What if I leave and he's here!? Would he follow us or stay here and wait till I return to visit Paige? I have to go ask Paige if she knows him or not.
I called Paige and told her to come over as soon as she could. She said she was on her way and hung up. Five minutes later she was walking up the stairs. I rushed toward her and showed her all of my pictures. "Yeah I remember when we took these," She laughed. "No, I remember too. But look in the background! There is a boy, the same boy, in every picture!" I pointed to the boy. She looked stunned and her mouth fell open. "Why is he in every picture? There has been a hot guy following us or being in the same spot as us and we didn't even know it?! What is wrong with us Rave?" She snapped. I looked at her for a minute before I continued to talk, "So you don't know him? I thought you would since you know everyone," I chuckled.
She shook her head, "No. I don't think I've seen him around." She looked at the picture some more before her eyes shown recognition. "He goes to our school! I think his name is Mike or Nick. I can't remember which it was." I knew it! My mate was here all this time watching me! Now I'll be able to stay here with Paige. I jumped up and down and Paige just laughed and asked why I was jumping. "I'm so happy right now, Pie! I might be able to stay here now!" I rushed down stairs leaving a very shocked looking Paige.
"MOM! DAD! I have some exciting news! I think I found it!" I shout. My mom and dad came back inside the house to see what I wanted. "I think I found my mate! See in every picture I took he's in it!" I whispered to them, not wanting Paige to overhear me. My mom looked at my dad, who was laughing really hard at the moment. My mom started to giggle and I got angry. "WHAT IS SO FREAKIN FUNNY!? I JUST TOLD YOU THT I FOUND HIM SO WE ON'T NEED TO MOVE?!" My mom stopped laughing immediately and my dad calmed down but was still chuckling. "Honey, that man isn't your mate. He's your, how do I say this without it being to creepy for you. Umm, he's more like protecting you from danger, like rogues and other people who want to hurt you or take you away." My dad stopped laughing.
"That's why we are moving. So you can find your mate and not have to worry so much." He explained. I just wanted to cry again. I turn around to go back upstairs but Paige is already there. She runs over to me and hugs me. We both start crying and she told me that she knew I was trying to stay here with her.
"They just want what's best for their little girl," Paige said, while rubbing my back. I just nodded not wanting to talk about it. "And besides, you'll be staying with me every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday," she said smiling. I laughed, "Don't forget about how much shopping we'll be doing for prom dresses! We're gonna be the hottest ones there." We both laughed and hugged.
We walked back downstairs to grab something to eat. "We're leaving in five minutes. So I want you to say goodbye for now. And before you start yelling at me and tell me to leave you alone, I just want you to know that you'll be coming back this Wednesday to stay the night with Paige," My mother said, then walked out the door to the car.
I turned and hugged Paige. "This is gonna be the two longest days of my life! I can't believe they're letting me come back this Wednesday! I thought I'd have to wait a week," I stated. Paige told me that we have to call and text each other every morning and night telling each other about our day. She also wanted me to let her know when I get my first boyfriend and first kiss, if she wasn't with me.
I laughed at that. "What makes you think anyone in Logan wants to kiss or date this?" I pointed at my body and spun around. She glared at me, "you, Ms. Raven, are one fine piece of ass! Anyone who can't see that is blind or mentally stupid. Now you have to tell me about all these hot guys there." We laughed and hugged five times. "RAVEN ALEXANDRIA NORM! It's time to go!!" Both of my parents shouted. I sighed and hugged Paige one last time and got in the car. I turned around to look out the back window. Paige was standing there waving like a mad woman, so I laughed and waved back. When we were just about to pull out the drive way I rolled down my window and shouted, "BYE BABE! I"LL COME BACK WITH CHILD SUPPORT! I PROMISE!" And blew kisses at Paige, who was laughing so hard she fell on her face.
My mom turned around and glared at me. "Was that really necessary? Now you'll have to start acting like an alpha. Do you hear me young lady? We are going to be around our kind all the time now, and I want them to know that their future is in good hands!" I just stared at her, what is she talking about? I'm not an alpha and I don't even have alpha blood in me...or do I? "Are you guys just now telling me that you are an Alpha and Luna of a pack?" I stammered. My mom looked up at my very happy, weird smiling dad. "I think it's time we tell her about our families, dear," My mom said lovingly. My dad just shook his head and cleared his throat. "Me and your mom are the Alpha and Luna of the Dark Moon Pack. And you're going to be the rightful heir once you find your mate, whether that be another Alpha or one from our pack. If its another Alpha you'll combine the two packs into one, but if it's one of our own, then they'll just be Alpha."
"Well I hope they'll like me since I've been kept in the dark all these years!" I was so angry at them for not telling me! Why did I have to be Alpha or Luna to a pack? I couldn't even make a speech during class, let alone talk in front of..I wonder how many there is in our 'pack.' "There is 573 pack members," My dad said, as if he could read my mind. Oh yeah I forgot about our ability to mind link with each other. "Did I leave my mind link open again?" My parents laughed and shook their heads. I'll have to remember to keep it closed since there'll be a lot of strangers who will be able to listen in. "Oh and don't forget to stay away from Cooper, he's your protector, the guy in the pictures," My mom said. "Why can't I become his friend? I mean he's seen me grow up and probably knows everything about me. I might just want to know..." "NO! You have to promise me that you'll NEVER, and I mean ever talk to that boy! Do you understand me," My parents said at the same time. I just nodded. I wonder why I wasn't allowed to talk to him. I looked at my parents who were staring at each other. I know they're mind linking each other, probably about Cooper, the boy I'm gonna talk to without them knowing about it.
