Chapter Four: c
Song: The Beach by The Neighbourhood

"Hey, do you know where I can find a book on the Civil War?" He asked dumbfounded and confused by the numerous and large shelves stuffed with books.

Dropping my head down and letting my hair fall in my face I blushed hard. Ryker Daniels was actually talking to me!

"Um...here f-follow me." I stuttered cursing myself for being so intimidated.

He shot me the biggest most friendly smile and followed my lead.

"This whole section here are war books," plucking off an antique looking book I held it to him,"this one is very good. I recommend using it. There's also-" I immediately stopped and realized I was blabbering.

Blushing in embarrassment I shoved the book into his hands and walked away.

"Wait!" He shouted running in front of me.

I jumped in surprised and stared at him in shock.

"Thanks for the help. Would you like to get a coffee with me?" He asked.

I was stricken and had no words making him chuckle. He latched onto my hand and pulled me out in my frozen state.

I always wish I had the same confidence and courage he showed me on that first day we meet.

I watched my target with a close eye until the time was right.

Sashaying my hips and painting a sickly sweet smile onto my face I made my way over to Kyle Daniels.

Kyle was everything opposite of you. He was sweet, smart, and didn't let his ego cloud his judgement. Either way you guys were still best friends.

"Hey Kyle!" I called waving at him.

He turned to me and smiled at me sympathetically,"Hello Alison how have you been."

I flinched and felt my anger bubble, but used every muscle I had to keep it down. I hated sympathy.

"I'm good. I was wondering if out wanted to go out for a coffee sometime?" I batted my eyelashes to add effect.

"I don't know if that'd be a good idea.."he stated scratching the back of his hand.

I huffed. I new his great loyalty would bring up some bumps, but luckily I had thoughtfully planned this out.

"Kyle look. I'm over the break up and so is Ryker. People break up its okay. We were just a silly high school couple that didn't work out. Now are we on for coffee or not?"

He thought hard about his next decision as if it was life or death but of course everything fell into my hands with his one word.

"Yes"
