Chapter Fifteen: l
Song: Running with the Wolves by AuroraI heard a single knock. Then two. I lifted my head slightly dried tears on my cheeks. Pushing off the ground I take a look in the mirror and let out a small cry.
Another knock.
I, with all my might, try open the door but was not brave enough to face humiliation. A couple minutes late, and some clicks the door is opened my what I presume is a key. I feel him stare at my rosy cheeks, my scarlet nose, and heavy eyes. He must be so disgusted.
He sits down next to me and gladly does not ask any questions. The silence but presence is comforting and warms my insides. Getting lost in my thoughts I finally hear him talk.
"Breakfast is on the table and it's getting cold." He says in a foreign accent that allures me.
I nod my head and bring myself into my feet. As I walk out the room I let out a breath of air I didn't realize I was holding. On a wooden table with an Aztec designed cloth sat a plate of beautifully scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, and strawberries.
I felt my heart open for a second at the lovely sight, no one wrecker cooked me such a wonderful meal. Not even you.
I take a seat and appreciate the meal. Picking up the fork I savor the satisfying taste of each and every bite.
💔
Obsessed with the song.
