Chapter Sixteen: a
Song: Leaving Tonight by The NeighbourhoodStriking grey eyes stared at me with intensity,"What's your name darling."
I can't concentrate, my thoughts scrambled in my head. The only thing keeping me nailed on earth are his glowing wolf eyes.
"My name is August."
That's how it starts. Something so innocent as a name is shared and next thing you know you're melting in their arms, inly to be inevitably hurt. You can't trust anyone in this cruel world not even yourself. Sometimes I wonder if this is all just a test or if this is really all there is to life. Will here be a judgement day in the end determining our eternal fate or will we just fade into oblivion.
"I just want to help you, and I can't do that if you don't at least tell me a little bit about yourself." He pleaded.
My jaw ticked a little, "That's the famous line huh," I laughed, "they all start with it and in the end you end up more broken than how you started."
I slowly stood up and walked into the room. He didn't need my baggage. This is just a charity case that I know he won't be able to handle.
I'm leaving tonight, and I'll be gone in the morning.
💔
I love this song and feels like it really explains Alice's situation very good.
