"Remember when we first met Lynn"
"Yea kinda and I wish you wouldn't call me that."
It was the next morning. I got to admit I don't wake up with the birds it's was more like 11am. And my hair was like a jungle. And let's not get started with my breath. Yet Ty still puts up with it. If my parents... Actually if anyone knew he was in here we'd be in so much trouble. And I hate the name Lynn yet Tyler still calls me it. Talk about best friend.
"What do you mean kinda I remember it like it was yesterday. You had your hair in two braids and you were wearing a little blue dress. It was your first day and your were so scared you didn't want to let go of your moms hand."
"I wasn't that scared"
"No but your were and I smiled cause I knew..."
"Brooklyn come down for breakfast."
"Ugh... Hold that thought Tyler"
"I'll be down soon mom"
"No you need to come down now..."
"Ugh fine Ty I'll meet up with you at the pond later k."
"Yea um... Sure."
"I'm really sorry you know parents"
"Yea I do. see you in 15" he smiled
"Yea" and he was out the window. I got out of bed and washed up and changed quickly. I took my hair out of its one braid and let it go wavy rushing down stairs.
"Ah Brooklyn Elizabeth put your hair up now!"
"Sorry mom I forgot" another Amish rule girls aren't allowed to wear their hair down unless they are alone with there husbands.
"You better start remembering I'm not gonna be around forever."
"Yea yea I know where is everyone else"
"Well since you decided to sleep in on this beautiful Saturday morning or should I say afternoon. They decided to go outside."
"Oh so it'll be quite for about another 30 minutes" I said stuffing my face with pancakes.
"Oh Brooklyn would you go outside for a bit."
"But..."
"No buts now go spend time with your siblings"
"Ugh fine"
I went out and sat on the porch when I remembered Tyler. I ran all the way to the pond it's our favorite spot. I found him reading a book against the wall.
"Hey"
"Oh hey I thought you forgot bout me"
"Ha ha no..." I said jokingly
"Uh huh" he said laughing I sat down beside him and laughed along.
"You know I wish life could stay like this. Us never growing up" I said when the laughing stopped.
"Yea same but we can't exactly stop time."
"Yea I guess" I said starting to play with a rock. "So what were you saying earlier."
"Oh yeah how we met." He said turning to face me. "Your mom said you guys had just moved. And your were starting school with us. Then in a instinct you became friends with Bethany and her group of friends. Then you came over to the guys table to play with the play-dough and we all yelled at you saying that only boys no girls allowed. You ran away crying. I felt so bad so I brought some play dough over to you and the other guys banned me from the table saying I had cuties. So you let me play with you. And from then on we were best friends."
"I can't believe you remember all that"
"Well yea" Tyler said scratching his head
I leaned over and gave him a peck on his check. He smiled and looked back at the pond.
"So I always wonder where did you guys move from?"
"Um... I think... Um... You know what I don't know?"
"How do you not know its like part of your childhood?"
"I know but I don't?"
"Hahaha how about your first word."
"I don't know that either."
"How bout your first grade teachers name."
"Nope"
"Baby pictures?"
"Nothing before four"
"Don't you find that suspicious"
"A little I guess"
"You guess. I have pictures so embarrassing from when I was little I could die for them to get out and you have nothing before four?"
"I guess my parents didn't really take pictures when I was little."
"I guess... it's almost lunch we should head home meet up later?"
"Yeah"
We both got up and headed our ways.
He went right while I went left. But I started thinking. It's true I don't really know much about my childhood. And we don't really talk about it much at home. I have nearly any pictures or objects from when I was a kid. This is truly weird maybe I'll find some answers when I get home. And I walked on home with a lot in mind.
