Chapter 10
I was literally beating myself up over what I did earlier. Smile at Nick. How stupid am I? It didn't matter, I was going out shopping with Jackie, Charlotte and Ellie. Jackie and Ellie have made up now, but that's a really long story.
I got changed again into a pair of worn out looking grey skinny jeans and a denim crop top. I found my keys and was just about to walk out the door when the phone started ringing. "Hello?"
"Hi, Rachael how are you doing by yourself?" My dad said. Every time at five o'clock he calls to check up on me.
"Fine, hows the business?"
"I'm afraid I'm going to be here for another month. Is that OK?" I really didn't mind my dad staying away, I suppose my mum has always been here I definitely don't want to see her again.
"Yeah it's OK, have fun" I smiled even though he couldn't see me and put the phone down.
When I got to the Mall Ellie, Charlotte and Jackie were all waiting outside in the freezing cold, huddled up together for warmth. Their faces brightened up when they saw me. "Rachael, thank God your here! If I'd of had to wait another minute out here I would just scream!" Charlotte said looking really pissed off at the weather.
"Sorry Charlie, I can't change the weather. Believe me I would if I could." Charlotte grabbed my hand and rushed me inside. Jackie ran straight to the food court. "Why do we have to go here?" I moaned.
"Because standing outside waiting for you is quite tiring."
"You didn't do a hundred laps of the mall did you? how was it tiring?" I laughed, Jackie always over-reacting to the little things. Jackie snorted and sat down at a table in the middle.
"These seats are great, you get to see all the hot guys from this point." I sighed and bashed my head down on the table at what Ellie had just said.
"The only type of guys we'll be seeing near a greasy food court are big fat ones!" Charlie corrected her.
"Not all of them." Ellie pointed to this group of boys surrounded by a bunch of slutty girls. I saw Max over by them but he didn't seem to be paying much attention to the girls he was looking in my direction. "Rachael, one of them is looking at you. Why don't you go over and talk to him?" Ellie nudged me out of my seat.
"Fine but I'm only doing this because you told me to." I started walking in his direction. I stood behind him and whispered into his ear.
"Want to ditch these losers?" He looked up at me and smiled.
"Thank you." He stood up and followed me outside.
"What do you want to do? I know for a fact that my friends will not be going shopping they'll probably sit in there for half an hour. Get bored and leave." Suddenly the sky turned a dark grey. "Prepare yourself." I looked up and at that moment the water flooded down. "What do you want to do now, there's not a lot to do now that," I was suddenly cut short on my rant by Max putting his finger over my mouth.
"I know exactly what I want to do." I think I knew what he was getting at when he leaned in close to me and when we were inches apart from each other I had to go and ruin it.
"Tell me then." It didn't really ruin the moment it just made us both laugh. "Second thought don't tell me, let me guess." I smiled and pulled him in closer by the collar of his polo shirt.
"Woo! I told you to talk to him!" Ellie shouted I looked up at Max and started laughed I put my head to his chest and he wrapped his arms around my waist.
