-Yet another time skip brought to you by the mysterious Phantom-

Six months later

Selina's POV:

I leaned over the rails on the boardwalk above the stage. As the cue came, I worked the set with the other stagehands. The others went to another section, but remained. I wasn't needed for the next set change, and the platform I was on provided for optimum view of the stage.

Suddenly, I felt a presence. I knew he was here. He was always there, but I didn't always feel him. I stilled. He was coming closer. He had never come within eyesight before. If I turn around, I will see him.

Scared of seeing him, or perhaps too nervous to, I just closed my eyes briefly and continued down the path, using my hands to guide me. When I reached the next platform, I glanced back. A flash of a white mask and a black cape, and he was gone.

The sound of ropes snapping had me rushing back. My eyes widened as a weight tumbled toward the stage. I peered over the edge down below. It had landed on Carlotta's dress, causing her to screech.

I smiled and giggle, before snapping my mouth shut and clasping my hand over the cloth over my mouth. (The cloth was there to show people that I didn't speak.) I backed away from the edge and looking to see if anyone had seen. Whew. No one saw. A letter fluttered to the walk next to me. I pick it up with trembling hands and a racing heart. Sinking to the ground, I peeled open the skull seal.

Mademoiselle LeClair,

You shouldnt need to hide yourself. Please deliver this to Monsieur LeFevre.

PTO

Looking around wildly, I saw another letter flutter down next to me. Slowly, I pick it up and walk off to hand it to Monsieur LeFevre.

That was the first time I helped him, the first of many. The letter I had passed on was asking for his monthly salary. As the weeks turned into months, I would receive letters of the same sort, all getting them with a red rose or a prank on Carlotta. The mysterious charm in each one put me under his spell. I could never reveal him. In some strange way, his words and scrawl had made me helpless to his bidding. So, when the time came, I did nothing.

Sorry for the wait. I've been busy. Things are going to start to slow down now, hopefully. The stories I wrote aren't my own. Neither are the characters. They are living things. I am just the messenger, so when the wait is long, know this. My receptors have been broken, and need repairing.
I'm adding a requirement for updating, now that my reads are picking up slughtly. One vote and one comment before I will update again.
Thanks for reading!
