Chapter 28 ♛ The Mist

Adriana's Pov
"Rise and shine rats" a loud voice wakes me up, "up now!" He says again and men come in and pick me, Lucy, and Eustace up and drag us somewhere.

They cuff us so we're sitting against a wall. Lucy is on my left and Eustace is on my right. I look over and men are shoving people into a boat, I decide to watch, I have nothing better to do.

Once everyone was in the boat the boat started moving, then a weird green mist appeared! It surrounded the boat then once it went away the boat and the people were gone!

I look over at Lucy and she puts her head on her knees. Men start coming over and one un-chains Lucy and brings her up into a small stage/ podium. "I bid 60!" One man says, "I bid 80!", "100 for the little lady!", "120", "150" more men bid for Lucy.

"Anymore bids?" The man calls out, no one says anything so another man puts a sign around her neck that says "sold".

He then comes over and un-chains me and puts me in Lucy's spot, "now for this little one" he says, "I'm not little" I say.

"Feisty one you are" he smiles and I try to get out of the mans grip, "she's strong" the man holding me whispers to the other.

"Hear that men?" He asks, "she's strong."

"100!" one says, "130!" another says, "150!", "200!" And the bids keep getting higher and higher, "350!" A man says and a sold sign gets hung around me neck.

"Now for this fine specimen" the man says as he brings Eustace up, "who'll kick off the bidding?" He asks but no one talks.

"Come on now, he may not look like much but..." He says and feels his chicken wing arms, "he's strong" and I laugh to myself.

"He's strong alright. He smells like the rear end of a Minotaur" a man in the crowd says and laughs come from the crowd of bidders.

"That's an outrageous lie" Eustace calls out, "I won the school hygiene award award two years running" he says and more laughs come from the bidders.

"Come on! Someone take a bid!" The man says,

"I'll take them off your hands" a familiar voice says, "I'll take them all of your hands" the voice says again and men take off their cloaks and it reveals Reepicheep and Drinian and some of the crew!

Everyone starts to fight and Reepicheep comes over to me and unlocks the handcuffs with his sword, "thanks Reep" I smile and he does the same for Lucy and Eustace.

The man put the cuffs on really tight, maybe because he thought I was going to break out somehow. I brush it off and grab the closest thing I could use as a weapon. I pick up a panel of wood and start hitting people with it, I don't know where my sword is. As I hit people I look around for my sword, it might be around here, but the last time I saw it was just before they took us.

Then I see a small stand with little things for sale and I see my sword hanging up in the back so I push through people and reach for the sword but I get held back. "Hey not yours, for paying customers only" the man holding me back says, "oh shutup" I say and elbow him back and grab my sword.

Just then a man falls from above and crashes onto the stand in front of me. I look up as see Caspian! I'm glad he's alright, "Caspian!" I shout, "Adriana!" He smiles back.

I hit another guy with my elbow and swing my sword once and the man collapses.

Everyone cheers as we walk down the street, I had to find Edmund. I push through the crowd trying to look over top of their heard. Then I see him, "Edmund!" I call out and he turns around.

I run over to him and give him a huge hug and he hugs me back instantly. "Are you alright?" He asks and I nod and smile, "are you?" I ask.

"Yeah" he smiles, "now that you're here."

"Your majesty" a voice says, "your majesty" a man says trying to get to us but Drinian holds him back. I grab my sword just in case, and so did Edmund and Caspian.

"My wife was taken just this morning" he says and a little girl comes running behind him, "it's alright" Caspian says.

"Daddy I want to come" the little girl says, "no Gale, stay with your Aunt" the man says and an older woman takes the little girls hand.

"I'm a fine sailer, been on the seas my whole life" he says, "of course you must" Caspian smiles, "thank you" the man says and gives his daughter a hug.

We all walk back to the longboats, and I'm holding Edmunds hand, maybe he doesn't have a girlfriend like I thought, maybe he did wait for me. "My king!" An old man says walking up to Caspain and he's holding what looks to be like a sword in his hands.

"This was given to me by your father" he says holding it out, "I hid it in the cave all these years."

Then it hits me, one of the seven lords! "That's an old Narnian sword" Edmund says looking at it, "it's from the golden age. There are seven of these swords, a gift from Aslan to protect Narnia. Your father trusted us to them. Here take it" the lord says handing it to Caspain.

Caspian holds it up and everyone cheers, "thank you my lord, and we will find your lost citizens" Caspian says.

We start to walk towards the boats and Caspain comes up beside Edmund and I, "Edmund" Caspian says and he stops and so do I. Then Caspian hands Edmund the sword. Edmund holds it up and admires it, "come on" I say and walk ahead to the long boats.

Edmund's Pov
Night falls and we all go to the sleeping areas, the girls get their own rooms and the rest of us get hammocks. I understand through, they're the only girls on a ship full of men.

I lie in my hammock thinking. Maybe she still likes me. When she hugged me I wanted to stay like that forever, and her hair smelt like flowers. Being able to hold her again was nice, I missed that, I missed her.

The hammock sways back and forth slightly and I slowly fall asleep and the last thing on my mind was Adriana.
