Chapter 33 ♛ Ramandu's Island

Adriana's Pov
"Everybody!", "Everybody wake up!" Lucy says and we all sit up, "it's the blue star!" She says and we all gather our stuff and head back to the boat.

I walk to the back of the boat and watch the sun rise. I look down at the water and we mermaids, I smile but I look closer and they're shaking their heads and swim away.

I walk back to deck with everyone else. "The wind has left us" Drinian says, "so how do we get to Ramandu's Island now?" Edmund asks.

"Well my guess is that something doesn't want us to get there" Drinian says and walk back up to the steering wheel.

I take a deep breath and walk over to a bench and sit down. I let out a huge sigh and stare at the floor, I see someone do the same thing I just did in the corner of my eye and I laugh slightly and sit up.

"You alright?" Edmund asks, "yeah" I say licking my lips, "no you're not, what's wrong?" He asks.

Sometimes I don't like when Edmund knows everything about me, makes it harder to keep a secret. "What if we don't succeed, what if we mess up and fail" I say, "hey, of course we're going to succeed, we always do" he says.

Then something knocks the ship and send everyone to the ground. "What was that?" I ask as Edmund helps me stand up, "Eustace that's brilliant!" Edmund smiles.

I run beside him and look forwards and see Eustace pulling the ship! We all cheer and in no time we arrive at Ramandu's Island!

We all get into longboats and explore the island. As it gets dark we take out our flashlights and keep walking.

We come upon a table with food, "wait" Drinian stops the crew from eating.

Edmund shines a light on 3 figures at the other end of the table and we all jump back and pull out our swords. "Three lords" Caspian says, I pull back on of the man's hair and I feel him move so I jump back, "he's- he's breathing" I say in amazement, "so are they" Edmund says.

"They're under a spell" Edmund says, "it's the food" Caspian warns the rest of the crew and they all drop what's in their hands.

"Hey that's the stone knife" I point, "this is Aslan's table" Edmund finishes for me taking the words right out of my mouth.

We gather all of the swords including the ones from the three lords here and lay them on the table, "that's six" Edmund says, "we're still missing one" I say.

Then the swords start to turn blue and a light comes down from the sky and a woman appears. "Travelers of Narnia, welcome" she smiles.

"Are you not hungry?" She asks, "who are you?" Edmund asks looking at her.

I'm not going to lie, I'm jealous. The way he's looking at her, and I'm right beside him holding his hand. "I'm Lilliandria daughter of Ramandu. I am your guide" she answers.

"You're a star" Caspian smiles and she nods and Edmund let's go of my hand and walks towards her and so does Caspian.

"You are most beautiful" Caspian says, "if it is a distinction I can change form" she says.

'Gladly' I think to myself. I don't want to be rude but I don't like how Edmund is showing his interest in her, especially right in front of me! "No" both Edmund and Caspian say.

For some reason my heart aches. Watching Edmund look at another girl like that just doesn't feel right. But of course he likes her, she's a beautiful star, and I'm just a boring girl from London.

I look down at my feet and Lucy puts her hand on my shoulder. I give her a weak smile and I know she feels bad. "Please the food is for you, there is enough for all who are welcome at Aslan's table" she says and the candles light up, "always."

"Wait" Edmund says, "what happened to them?" He asks.

"These poor men were half mad by the time they reached out shores, they were threatening violence against each other" she says, "violence is forbidden at the table of Aslan, so they were sent to sleep."

"Will they ever wake?" Lucy asks, "when all is put right" she answers.

"Now there is little time" she says and Caspian, Edmund, Lucy and I follow her.

We come upon a lookout place and we look towards the ocean. "The magician Coriakin had told you about Dark Island?" She asks, "yes" Caspian answers and we all look towards the island.

"Before long, the evil will be un stoppable" she says, "Coriakin said to break it's spell we have to lay the seven swords on Aslan's table" Caspian says, "he speaks the truth."

"We only have six" Edmund says, "do you know where the seventh is?" He asks, "in there" she points to dark island, and that's exactly what I didn't want to hear.

"You'll need great courage" she says, "now waist no time."

"I hope we meet again" Caspian says and she smiles "goodbye" she says and turns into a light again and floats up into the sky.

We all turn around to walk back to the crew and Edmund walks up beside me and tries to take my hand but I move my hand away and walk away. If he thinks he can do that with another girl and expect me to be fine with that, he's wrong.

We all go back on the ship and head towards dark island.

"I don't understand" I hear someone say so I stop at the corner, "she's mad at me and I don't know why" and now I know it's Edmund.

I just roll my eyes and walk back on deck.

"What do you think is out there?" Tarus asks, "our worst nightmares" I hear Edmund say, "our darkest wishes" I hear Caspian say, "pure evil" Drinian says and walk over.

"Tarus unlock the armour" he says and Tarus walks off, "archers prepare yourselves" he commands and they all do as told.

"Let's get ready" Caspian says and we all walk off deck to get armour.

I walk into my room and Gale follows me and sits on my bed. I grab a chest guard and arm guards and my sword and strap it on. I pull my hair into a ponytail to keep it out of my face. "When I grow up" I hear Gale say and I look up, "I want to be just like you" she says and I smile at her through the mirror and walk over to her and sit beside her on my bed.

"When you grow up" I say putting my arm around her, "you should be just like you" I smile.

Lucy walks in and we all walk out on deck. Gale goes to her Father and I stand on the tops of the steps.

"No matter what happens here, every soul who stands before me has earned their place on the crew of The Dawn Treader. Together we have traveled far, together we have faced adversity, together we can do it again. So now is not time to fall to fears temptations be strong, never give in. Our world. Our Narnian lives depend on it. Think of the lost souls we're here to save, think of Aslan, think of Narnia" I say and start to walk down the steps. Then everyone starts to cheer. "For Narnia!" They shout.

I smile a little on the outside, but on the inside I'm terrified. Terrified of what will happen, terrified of what we'll find in there.

A/N- Ahh I'm excited for the next part! I hope everyone's enjoying this so far! I can't believe it's almost over *cries*. But I'm thinking of a little idea I might do but that comes later. I want to thank you guys for all the 8.5k+ reads and all the votes they mean so much to me. Being able to come home from school and see that makes my day. And your guys' comments make my day even better so I want to thank you guys for that as well. I'll update as soon as possible for you guys.
