Chapter 50 ♛ Flashbacks

Edmund's Pov
I wonder what happened to Adriana. She just stopped what she was doing and stared. I called her name but she didn't respond. It was like she tuned out completely for a bit.

I don't really understand what it was. I decided attacking her with questions wouldn't be the best idea so I just kept quiet about it.

"So now what?" She asks.

We went back to her apartment, and honestly I have no clue what we're doing next. "We could go to the park" I suggest.

"Okay! Sounds fun!" She smiles and we head back out the door again and head to the park.

The cool, crisp wind brushes against by face and blows back her perfect brown hair. I see her rub her hands together and I take her small hand into mine. They still fit perfectly. She looks up and smiles and I smile back. "If it's too cold we can go back" I say and she shakes her head.

"No, it's okay" she smiles and we proceed walking to the park.

We pass an older couple and the man nods his head at me. I then feel Adriana's hand detach from mine and I look over and see her running over somewhere.

I run after her and I see her crouch down beside a little girl on the ground. "Aww are you alright?" She asks.

I know she's not expecting a response, the child looks to be only a couple years old. "You poor thing" she says and picks up the crying child.

She then turns to me with a concerned look on her face, "Ed what do we do? She's all alone. We need to find her parents" she says.

I agree but how? "How? There's no one around" I point out.

"Well what if we ask people if they've seen anyone looking for a child?" She asks.

"It's worth a shot" I say and we go on an adventure, it's different, but it's still an adventure.

Adriana's Pov
This poor little girl, who is probably two or three at the most was all alone in the park. "Excuse me have you seen any parents looking for a child?" I ask a lady and she shakes her head.

"Excuse me, have you seen any parents looking for a child?" I ask another and they shake their head.

Ugh, how are we supposed to find her parents? They could be anywhere. "Edmund how are we supposed to find her parents?" I ask.

"It's alright. We'll figure it out" he says and I can tell he knows I'm dreaming out at the moment.

I can't even imagine how the parents are feeling right now. "Okay so where would you go if you lost your child?" He asks.

Good idea. Police! "The police station" I say and he nods.

"Let's go" he says and we start walking to the police station.

Well Edmund is, I'm just following. We walk into a building I assume is the police station and I walk up to the desk. "Excuse me, has any parents stopped by asking about a lost child?" I ask.

"Yes actually, they went out to go look for her again" she says.

"Will they be back any time soon?" Edmund asks.

"Probably to check to see if anyone has found her, which you two thankfully have. Where was she?" The lady asks.

"At the park in the field" I answer and she writes it down on a piece of paper.

"Alright I guess you two can sit down and wait for them to come back" the lady says and we sit down in the very uncomfortable seats.

The little girl then grabs my hand and starts playing with my fingers and I laugh. I look over at Edmund and he laughs as well. This girl is so cute, I'm glad we found her and not some bad person.
