Chapter 3- I suck at good first impressions

I have never been accepted anywhere. I was always the weird mysterious girl. So now my past was frightening my presence. I took one look at the dining hall filled with people and immediately began to remember the days in the school halls. The ones when i would ask to go to the bathroom and people would follow me just to bash me up. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Don't let your past define you. I tell myself.

"You will stay in the Hermes cabin until you're claimed-which could take forever but you never know- anyway be...um nice." Nico says as we enter the dining hall. I nod, understanding what he meant by 'be nice' and walk over to the table Nico directed me to.

"Erm...Raven Grey." i awkwardly introduce myself. Be nice. i think. how the hell do you just be nice?

"Lily Watson." a girl with long auburn curls and brown eyes smiles up at me. I force a smile back and it must have looked okay because she makes room for me to sit next to her. My face felt stretched at the unfamiliar gesture- a smile.

"So you're new here." Lily states.

"Pfft obviously, moron." I rudely remark and then come to my senses when she frowns. I awkwardly laugh my ruddiness off. Lily keeps frowning and then picks up her plate of food and sits at the other end of the Hermes table. I roll my eyes and pick at my food, not really hungry.

"Stupid people with their stupid feelings."I mute to my plate. "They're so messed up."

"The first sign of insanity os talking to your self, Wild fire." I whip around and come face to face with Nico.

"Cant you try to be nice?" He hisses.

I make that 'Pft' sound again, the one i seem to have to use. "Why do you care? You're not nice either." I glare at him.

"Well its just a heads up because a bad reputation, here, is hard to get rid of." Nico informs me. I roll my eyes and turn away from him.

"Just. be. friendly." He tells me.

I laugh with out humour. "Yeah well if you haven't noticed I'm not a friendly person."

"Fine." Nico says rolling his eyes. "Be up early for training." He shouts after him as he walks away but i hear him mutter under his breath, "Psychopath"

I hated people and noise and people. I generally hated everyone, Acually. So staying in the Hermes Cabin was hell for me. Everywhere I went there was people smiling, laughing and socialising.Yuck. I got a sleeping bag and slept in a corner away from people. I have been here three hours and already i have been hit on-only by boys thankfully- 7 times.

I closed my eyes, ignoring the booming sound of a full cabin of 70 kids snoring, and drifted to sleep.

I was awaoken in the morning to people screaming and laughing. The happiness of the place made me feel sick. Quickly i pulled on my Camp Half-Blood shirt and my pair of ripped skinny jean that were lying on the floor.(HELLO 5sos fam!) I pulled my hair into a messy bun, grabbed my black backpack and walked out of the cabin. I walked to the big house, which is where grover told me to go in the morning, and knocked at the door.

"Ah Miss Grey lovely to meet you, i'm Chiron." A centaur man open the door of the big house and warmly greeted me.

I scowled and held out my palm. "I came for my schedule." I demand, my face emotionless.

"Oh-yes yes of course." Says Chiron, flustered as he hands me a sheet of paper.

I take it and walk away. Rude? Yes but i don't muck around.

I had mostly active things on my timetable.

Sword fighting first, Archery, knife throwing, swimming, break, 2nd sword fighting and another break.

I was happy with my timetable, being ADHD i was glad to keep moving.

"Wow you're at natural." Comments Percy as he teaches me the basic's of sword fighting. "You're totally ready to spar...um." Percy looks around the Arena, searching for someone for me to verse.

"Nico, buddy." Percy smiles hopefully at Nico, becoming for him to come over. "You can Spar Raven."

"What? But-" Nico and I both begin.

"No. Both of you are just as good as each other and would make perfect training partners. Actually you can stay paired for the whole time you're here, if this so works out." Percy tells us. I glare at him, knowing that he is up to something.

"Whatever." I mutter and find my stance, ready to win.

"Go." Says Percy.

I lash at Nico quickly and he is to slow. I got him in the shoulder, giving him a deep cut. I grin as he swings at me and i block. The blades meet and i push down on his sword so his thin arms cant hold. We go on for minutes. Slashing and jabbing at each other, neither of us getting anywhere.

A small crowd has formed, watching us. Finally i spot Nico weaken and take my chance. I jab him in the stomach with the hilt of my sword, so it would only wind him not completely injure. He doubles over groaning in pain. He drops his sword and i drop mind.

"I win." I wheeze, as i sit on the ground, so tired.

"Fine." Nico mutters.

Percy comes and helps us up. He hands Nico a square of some medicine or something.

"Wow that was awesome." Percy says. "I-" But he stops mid sentence, looking at something over my head.

"Oh my gods. No way in Tartarus." I hear Nico mutter beside me. I look up and see the thing attracting everyones attention.

A blue lightning bolt is projected over my head. The symbol of Zeus.

I look at Percy who is staring at me wide eyed. I spot Chiron Running down the hill towards us.

"What is it? I heard that-" Chiron Begins. "Zeus. Gods..."

Chiron nods. "All hail Raven Grey Daughter of Zeus. Lightning corruptor and great King of Olympus."
