Chapter10- The hunt (Part 2)

Hera's gem was a greyish silver and was sitting on top of the spike that was on top of the playground fort. It was about 10 feet up.

If Jason was here he could just fly up. Unlike Jason i can't fly but luckily I'm not afraid of heights, as Thalia is.

It was easy enough to climb. Quickly, before Nico realised there were no gems in the bathroom, i place my foot on the bottom railing and began to climb up.

I am about five feet up when a shadow casts over me and Nico appears a meter above me.

"What the hell? Go away, this one is mine!" I shout at him.

"I don't think so." He smirks.

I groan and climb faster. He begins to speed up. We are in the sunlight now so he can't shadow travel up.

I conjure up all my anger and a bolt of lightning appears from the sky and strikes right next to Nico. He falls and grabs on to a bar two metres down from me.

I laugh at his annoyed scowl and keep climbing. Nico seems to be struggling to keep up. He is so pale and thin i didn't expect him to even get a few inches off the ground.

I successfully reach the top and grasp the grey gem in my hand. I grin and stick my tounge out at Nico.

"Point to team Raven." I say when he reaches the top.

"Fine but there are still another two to find and they could be anywhere here." He frowns.

"Well better get look'n then." I grin, places the gem into a small leather pouch attached to my belt.

All of a sudden thunder clouds appear over blue the sky.

"Zeus is getting impatient." Nico says, looks up.

He grabs my hand and a feel as though i am being stabbed with the icicles. My eyes are closed and when i open them we are standing safely on the ground.

"Shadow travel." Nico says as he turns away, hands in his pockets.

"What was that for? I almost electrocuted you." I ask, confused at why he helped me.

Nico just shrugs. "I might as well help you because i'm going to win anyway." He smirks and goes back inside.

I stand frozen for a moment, my hand tingling from his touch. I shake my head and wipe my hand on my jacket. Convincing myself that i am disgusted, i push open the door and head for the kitchens.

I walk behind the counter. Grabbing a large chips that were still warm I walk to the back of the kitchens.

I am about to give up when i spot a dark shimmering purple gem sitting on a pile of burgers. Dionysis' gem.

I laugh at how easy that was. I reach out to grab it when my fingers touch a freezing cold patch of air and i am thrown backwards by a blast.

Rubbing my head i look to the counter. A greyish black dome about two meters up and wide appeared around the gem.

My chips. Is all i think.

"Oh, Force field." I whisper, getting back up and grabbing another pack of chips. (or fresh fries whatever)

I walk close to the force-field, not touching it. I spot, on the bench top outside the force-feild, a cymble carved into it. It was a circle and inside it was a ring of leaves.

"We have to break it." Came a voice from behind me.

"What do you mean 'we'? I found it." I say to Nico.

"We're all in this together." He says.

"Ah yes Troy Bolton. What now are we going to call back all the monsters from the dead and start singing, dancing and then call a truce?" I say sarcastically.
