Chapter 19

Hazel

I lay in my bed thinking about the day. It was so odd, even for a demigod, and that is saying a lot. The day wasn’t odd as in fighting monsters, no that’s normal, the day was odd as in everything went rather well apart from Leo not coming home until seven with no apparent reason and Nico yelling a something or someone to get effed (though he actually swore) I’m hoping it wasn’t at anyone, that would’ve been mean. I opened up my laptop and typed in my password. Still getting into the hang of things but I’m getting better, which Frank seems to be proud of. It used to be Leo’s job to teach me how to use the laptop, but now he has other things to do so Frank helps me out as much as he can.

“Hazel.” Frank called from my bedroom door. I looked up and smiled at him.

“Yes Frank, what is it?” I asked walking over to him.

“Dinner is ready, Annabeth sent Leo out to get food and he came back with pizza, kebabs, burgers and fries. It looks so yummy.” He grabbed my hand and we walked down to the dining room where everyone was seated, eating in silence. Frank and I sat down in our usual spot which was me next to Leo and Frank at the end. Leo looked up from his food and smiled at me I smiled back and Leo resumed eating.

“So, how was school Nico?” I asked once everyone was done and we just sat at the table talking.

“Oh good.” He replied

“What’d you do?” Percy asked.

“The usual why?”

“Well, I wanna know why you kept on swearing at something telling it to you know” Annabeth made weird gestures with her hands to get the point across.  Nico just laughed.

“Guys calm down, I was just playing Call of Duty; my friend Will showed it to me, jeez.” Nico looked around the table and smirked. Percy and Jason looked at one another and laughed.

“Man, I feel dumb.” Percy laughed.

“Well you are a Seaweed Brain.” Annabeth smiled and hugged Percy. We went around the table saying what we did today. Percy and Annabeth left halfway through to go swimming. Nico took Jason and Piper up to his room and they both went to play CoD as Nico called it. Leo and Stacy went to the garage, leaving Frank and I down stairs.

“Wanna watch TV, Hazel?” Frank asked as we cleaned up the table. I nodded. We set the plates down in the sink as it was not our turn to wash up; in fact it was only our third day living with our friends and first day of actually starting school. And it was actually Leo and Piper’s turn to wash up, though I highly doubt that would happen.

Frank and I sat down on the o-so-comfy sofa. I turned on the TV and switched it on to a show called Wipe Out.

“What is this?” I asked as a man fell off a giant red ball. Frank let out a laugh.

“This Hazel is called Wipe Out, it is a TV show.” A lady was just punched in the stomach by a glove, she hell off the platform and into the mud, I laughed.

“This is funny; watching people make a fool of themselves is hilarious.”               I said, Frank nodded.  We sat in silence as we watched Wipe Out, and every now and then we would laugh like maniac.

Leo ran out of the lift with a panicked look on his face.

“What’s up Leo?” I asked. Relief flooded his face.
