Chapter 28

Recap

“Talk.” I told her about everything, how that if she tells anyone the names of the demigods that I could die. That I would be killed for breaking an oath that I had sworn upon the River Styx.

As I was explaining her eyes grew wider and her expression became a mixture of confusion, fear and anger. And when I told her that telling her probably triggered whatever is going to happen to me she screamed and jumped out of bed.

Where she was going I had no clue.

I ran out of the house, not looking back. If these stupid friends of Liv’s are going to get her killed I’m going to find out how to stop it, and if it means blowing my cover and destroying this mission and Liv’s relationship with Leo, I will. No one gets to kill my little sister. No one except old age. I didn’t know exactly where the demi-gods lived, but I had some sort of a clue. Some big house that stands out like crazy.

Knock, knock, knock!!

I knocked on their front door, most likely everyone was asleep it was 1:00 am after all. No one answered so I tried the doorbell, which was one of those ones where you can speak into it.

“OPEN UP, IT’S ME ALEX! I GOT SOMETHING REALLLY SUPER IMPORTANT TO TELL YOU, IT’S A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH! I DON’T CARE WHO BLOODY TIRED YOU ARE, GET YOUR LAZY ASSES DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!” I yelled through the com-link. I know, I know, lying is bad, and this is probably gonna end up with my mother having a long, boring ‘talk’ (yell-fest) with me, and yep. But seriously, Liv could die.

There was some static mixed with some voices on the other end of the line. “Do you realize what time it is? It’s 1 fucking o’clock IN THE MORNING!” Someone, I assume Annabeth yelled through the speaker.

“Just open the stupid door.” I whined knocking once more on the door. But what I didn’t notice was that the door had been opened already, so instead my fist made contact with poor little Leo’s face. “Oh my god I am so sorry, god Liv- uh Alex is going to KILL me.” I said helping him up. He was holding his nose, which I gathered was either broken or bleeding, most probably both.

“What do you mean Alex is going to kill you?” Leo asked letting me inside. Stupid kid, I’m not Alex yet he lets me inside. Percy turned on the lights and immediately everyone gasped.

“You- you’re not Alex. Prada get out!” Annabeth screamed. She stalked towards me looked down right pissed. “I said, get the fuck out.” Most people in the room’s mouth fell open. I guess Annabeth ain’t a big swearer. Well you learn something new every day. I threw my hands up in innocence.

“Please, just here me out. I didn’t say it was me before because, well, if I told you, you wouldn’t have answer the door.” Everyone nodded. “And what I need to tell is crazy important, and I’m risking everything coming over here just to talk to you, I’m risking a. my job, b. my mother’s respect for me and c. probably gonna make all of you guy hate Liv, James and I.” that was where I lost them. 

“Hang on.” Percy said waving his hands around. “Who are Liv and James?”

“Liv is Alex and James is Jake. I am Nick.” Hazel at this point stepped forward. She looked like she was going to say something bust quickly shut her mouth and Annabeth took over.

“Alright Nick what is happening?” That was my cue. I began with the topic of why out names are different. I told them that we were undercover and couldn’t use our real names. I then told them about the mission and how we were spying on them, working out if they were or were not demigods.

“But Alex swore she wouldn’t- Holy- she told.” Leo stuttered collapsing on the sofa.

“That is what I came here to talk to you guy about. Is Liv- uh Alex going to die? She told me but I have told no one. I did tell my mum but forged no names.”

“Frankly, I don’t know, the best person to ask would be Nico, but then again I doubt he’ll know. My best guess is probably yes, and you too, maybe.” Annabeth stated sitting down next to Leo. Great, now I too am holidaying on deaths doorstep.

Me: dun dun daaaaa *lightning flashes*

Frank: Oh dear

Annabeth: Leo you girlfriend is an idiot, we specifically told her not to tell, she swore on the River Styx, she is on her death bed.

Leo: Nope, we can fix this.

Percy: Yes we can *sings bob the builder theme song*

Leo: *Death glare*

Hazel: Um Leo, calm down.

Nick: Guys, answers would be helpful, who do we go to.

Annabeth: So was you being a b*tch all an act?

Nick: Pretty much, so was being dumb. Do you know who hard it is to act dumb for so long. I think I lost IQ points.

Annabeth: *Gasp*

Me: All rights go to Rick Riordan. All characters except from Alex/Liv, Nick/Prada, Jake/James etc are Rick’s
