[SHOUTOUT TO THE PEOPLE WHO GOT TRICKED BY ME AYE]
My eyes are closed. I can't move. I tried, but my body felt so exhausted. I could merely flinch.
"Is she going to be okay?" A voice- Luke's voice- said.
"Yes, she'll be just fine. I think she should be kept overnight to monitor her levels and make sure she intakes the correct amount of nutrition for her body to return to normal." Another voice said.
"So what happened? I don't understand- she's never had something like this happen... God, I'm an idiot, she's been showing signs of exhaustion for weeks! She's complained about being tired and I dragged her to Disney World for Christ sake!"
Gordon- Gordon?
"It's okay, you heard the doctor, she just needs some rest." Luke said.
"It's not okay! Look at me, Luke. I've been dishonest with her from day one! I've been tiring her out! I'm no good!"
"G-Gordon?" I finally got strength to say.
I heard shuffling around the room, and I tried opening my eyes.
"Eli? Go back to sleep, it's okay. You're in the hospital, you're okay. You just need to sleep, go back to sleep. I'm not leaving this room. Well, maybe to go pee but- never mind, go to sleep."
"Okay." I said, faintly.
I didn't go to sleep. I lied there, in the bed, motionless. I could only hear the sound of pacing, leg shaking, and the door opening and closing.
"I'm so sorry." Gordon said... In a... Different voice.
Do they really care about me this much? Where was my family? These were just friends I had just met a few months ago. I never thought I was actually worth something important to more than just my family.
I felt enough strength in my body to open my eyes. I had an oxygen mask on.
At this point I was kind of freaking out- all I remember is falling into the pool and blacking out. Did I drown? Am I dead?
"Eli." Gordon sighed of relief and smiled.
I pointed to my oxygen mask, realizing I can't really talk with it on.
"You can take it off now, the doctor said you could when you woke up. It's 3am." He smiled.
I took the mask off, and smiled at him.
"What happened?" I asked.
"You passed out and fell into the pool. Ashton and I pulled you up from the bottom and Luke and Calum picked you up from us. You had water in you lungs since when you passed out you probably panicked, so we called 911 because none of us knew CPR. They brought you here and were waiting for you to wake up so they could see why you passed out." He explained.
"Thank you." I said. "Was Michael there? I mean, that sounds stupid to ask seeing as how I could've died, but I remember seeing his face."
"Yeah, he uh- helped us." He said.
I smiled at him, and the doctor walked in. I sat up more up on the bed, and the doctor waved.
