IT WAS APRIL 1955, when spotlights were running for my head. I was a popular singer at the age of twenty-two. Claps at every side of the theater house. I sung like a nightingale, I owned the loveliest voice in town. I sung in perfection like a goddess.
Glittering long gown drifted to the floor as I move, I was on glam. Every sway and bend as I sing, I am shining like a star.
Every lad and every man, wanted my hands and my lovely yes to be their lovely bride. And so I was engaged to a man named Dominik Colt. I never knew he was a Russian spy at first, but then accepted because I loved him the most.
As we married each other, it was the happiest moment of our life, and so on and on. We made love like there's no tomorrow. I could still remember his eyes, how grey they are, staring me and giving me compliments and his chuckles that played on my ears.
In the years that gone by, my singing career was strangling down as we started making our own family. We had two kids, named Martin and Kristine.
It was 1963 and Martin was eight and Kristine was 5 when Dominik left us, for a mission. He promised us he would comeback.
And so we waited for 5 years waiting for him till he came back, safe and sound. After that, he brought us to Russia. But it was a tough time because we're Americans.
But at there we live peacefully like seagulls soaring up the clear blue sky.
Until one day, a single knock changed our lives. Our house were rained by riffle bullets and Dominik was dead. And so I hid my children with me, but still they saw us. They took my lovely kids and I was raped.
I was helpless as they held me, I was abducted for thirteen days. They don't give me food or any thing. They make me choke their bullet barrels and made me sing endlessly, till my vocal chords were damaged.
I thought I'm gonna die but then I was saved by American soldiers. And they said 'You're going home Cindy Johnson'. I was very thankful but I didn't know what to do, everything ...was lost.
And if you're asking about the wall art, It was Dominik who made it. The words that were embarked were Russian, they were supposed to be a wedding pledge but he wanted it to be special. We read it after our honeymoon, He explained me what they meant. They're our love story.
Joan cried, that was the saddest among the stories he heard for 15 years of her existence. She never knew this lady was a singer, she never knew what things she's been through.
