[Scarlett]
I woke up, dazed and on a white bed
I tried to sit up, but whatever made me sleep still had some effect on me
"Woah there, Scarlett." Clieo told me
I frowned "Clieo? Where are we?"
"In space." She answered "More precisely, in an escape ship."
I frowned "How'd we get here?"
Clieo bit her lip "Scarlett, what's the last thing you remember?"
I frowned "I remember the Morphus on the ship and they hacked into the system and the ship was going to crash. Then Jim said..." My voice trailed off. My eyes widened "Oh, god. Clieo, where's Jim?"
Clieo bit her lip harder which really must hurt "He's still on the ship."
I panicked. I looked around. I saw Shadow on the night stand next to the bed. She was sleeping next to my phone. I didn't see her for a long time, but i was too busy panicking
I grabbed my phone and dialed Jim's number
"Jim? Where are you?"
"Hey, Scarlett." He said
I scowled "Don't you 'Hey, Scarlett' me. Where are you?"
"On the Enterprise." He answered
"Jim, get off that ship. It's going to crash." I said
"Look, babe." He said "I'm not going to be able to come home tonight."
I felt my eyes getting wet "Jim, please. You can't do this."
"I have to, Scarlett." He told me "If I don't, then millions of lives on earth dies."
I managed to smile. That's Jim, always thinking like a hero
"Hey," I said, weakly "you still promise me that date."
I heard him laugh "I know. If..." He hesitated "When, i get off the ship, that's the first thing i'll do."
I smiled, i was on the verge of tears right now "Promise?"
"Promise." He said
Then, i heard something crash in the background. Through the window, i saw the Enterprise. It was slowly starting to fall i to earth
"Jim?" I asked, gripping my phone tighter
"Yeah, i'm still here." He said, but he sounded like he was having a hard time talking
"I'm sorry, Scarlett." He said
I was crushing my phone at this point "Don't you dare say that, James Tiberious Kirk. It is not your fault."
I heard him laugh. Then, another big crash sound. There were "code red" sirens everywhere now
"Hey," he said "I love you, Scarlett."
I smiled, a tear falling down my cheek
"I love you too."
Then, with a final crash, the message stopped completely
The phone dropped out of my hands and fell on the floor
I buried my face in my hands and cried
Clieo hugged me and Shadow curled on my lap and purred as if asking me if i was okay
I wasn't
I peaked through my fingers. I saw the Enterprise falling into Earth's orbit
And Jim was still in there
I cried even harder
"I'm so sorry, Scarlett." Clieo said
I couldn't really hear her through the sobs, but i managed to hear the words "I'm sorry."
Those were the same few words Jim said,
