Two Puzzle Pieces

Chapter eight

I pulled on my shoes faster then I have ever and rushed out the door and down the road. I pounded on my neighbors door.

"Yes child."

"Can I barrow your four wheeler." I begged.

"I see why not." And then he handed me the keys. I found it and started it and drove out like a demon was on my tail.

I made it at the barn just as Dustin got out.

"Dustin!" I called but he didn't answer me.

He walked into the barn and I followed behind him.

"What the hell do you think your doing!?" Dustin asked angrily. Alec had a crying Riley in his arms. Leo was tacked up behind them.

"From the looks of it your job." Alec snapped.

Dustin lunged at Alec and I was already there blocking his way with a. Roundhouse kick to the face.

"Don't touch them. What ever you have to say can be heard not felt." I said crossing my arms.

Dustin wiped blood from his lip and stood streight.

"I wanna know what's going on!" He said frustration and anger thick in his voice.

We all looked to Riley, who had her face buried in Leo's mane, who glanced at us with a warning eye.

"I didn't mean for it to happen." She whispered.

"What happen?" Dustin asked taking a foot closer. Leo's head snake around and hid Riley's face. The horse glared dangerously at the boy. Alec and I stood beside her.

"Sleeping with Alec." She whispered.

Dustin flinched and looked at Alec. Before I could blink Dustin was on Alec like a wild cat.

The went at it, pounding on each other like stallions fighting for a mare.

"Stop!" Both Riley and I screamed at the same time. Riley pulled Alec away from Dustin and I tried to but he was to strong. Sudden a bigger pair of arms wrapped around the boy and carried him away.

I noticed it as Tim the barn groom.
Riley didn't hesitate and was on Leo's back riding away.

Alec called after her but she ignored him and galloped away. I stood stone still in my stop still trying to process what happen.

"What happen when I wasn't here?" I asked Alec.

He sighed and leaned down to pic up a pair of sun glasses. He folded them and put them in his pocket and just as I think he wasn't going to tell me he said,

"I told her I love her."

I knew what this meant for Riley and I was furious with Alec.

"Idiot!" I snapped and then before I could think what I was doing I found Cody in a stall tacked him up and rode after my friend.
