twenty-six: year one
August
"Are you alright Lou?" Harry asks, looking over at his friend who was staring out the window as Harry drove them both to Yorkshire. Louis hadn't really said much to Harry since he'd picked him up from his home an hour or so before. Harry and Louis were both moving down to Yorkshire, having Harry with him was one of Louis' terms with Yaser. Louis knew he wasn't really in the position to make demands, but he needed Harry's help... especially because his mum wasn't going to be around as often as he'd like. She didn't like the idea of relying on Yaser, and Louis understood that... So Louis couldn't exactly blame her.
"Yeah, just tired is all. Thanks for doing this with me Harry..." Louis says finally, looking at his friend who just shrugged.
"You're my best friend Lou and you need my help... I'd do anything for you, you know that." Harry says, smiling at Louis. The drive wasn't a long one from their native town of Bradford, so the conversation died down when Harry pulled up to the rather large country home. Louis felt a little nervous as Harry turns off the car, he wasn't sure what to expect... Harry opens his car door for him and together the two boys walked to the front door. Louis took from his pocket the small key Yaser had given him before he stuck it into the door. He took a deep breath before opening the door and stepping inside. This was his new home.

"Louis, if you don't get up now we're going to miss your appointment." Harry called from the bottom of the stairs, earning an eye roll from Louis who was indeed already up. He was standing in front of the mirror that was on the closet door. Louis turned to the side, blowing the hair that had fallen in front of his eyes away as he tries to spot a baby bump. He was nearly 17 weeks along now and he figured because he was having twins he'd at least see some sort of bump...
"Louis for godsake, I won't tell you ag- What are you doing?" Harry walks into the room, making Louis jump and quickly pull his shirt back down.
"Nothing. I wasn't doing anything..." Louis says quickly, ignoring the fact that his cheeks were bright pink. Harry chuckles, shaking his head a little before asking Louis if he was ready. It took the boys an hour to drive to Louis' doctor's office. They were back in their home town, but the only ones to know that were Louis' mum and them. Louis hadn't spoken a word to Zayn since the night he cut things off and the younger boy didn't have any regrets where it was concerned. He still stood by his decision to disappear. It wasn't long before Louis was sitting in the hospital room, waiting patiently for his doctor walk in. Harry was playing Angry Birds as he often did when he was bored. Louis smiled at his doctor when she walked in, feeling giddy and nervous at the same time. He was going to find out what his babies were... Louis' doctor talked to him for about a half hour, covering what his birth plan was and discussing his due date which he found out was going to be in early March.
"Now how about we find out what those babies are? If we're lucky they'll be in the right spot." His doctor said, turning on the ultrasound machine before squirting some gel onto Louis' stomach. Harry was now staring at the machine excitedly as he waited for an image of the babies to show up. It took only a moment before Louis was once again met with the steady sound of two heartbeats.
"Alright, well I can tell you that baby A is a boy." His doctor says quietly, moving the wand around so that Louis could get a better view of the first baby. Louis' smile grew, he'd always wanted a boy...
