Chapter 13

Chapter 13 - Marie

"Oh my god," I heard someone say. Alex and I pulled away from each other. We looked towards the door. Jack stood there with Samantha. Jack's mouth was hanging wide open while Samantha just gave us a disgusted look. 

"Uh, hey," Alex said. I silently giggled beside him. 

"M-Marie what are you doing here?" Jack asked. 

"Uh," I started but Alex cut me off.

"Vinny and Flyzik bailed her out." 

"Serious?" Jack came across the room and embraced me in a hug. "I missed you."

I laughed. "I missed you too, Jack." 

Samantha cleared her throat. Jack and I pulled away and faced her. Samantha walked up and pulled Jack's hand. 

"He's mine," she said. I furrowed my eyebrows at her.

"I know?" 

She rolled her eyes and dragged herself and Jack out of the room. 

"That was weird," I said, facing Alex. Before Alex could say anything, Vinny and Flyzik came walking through the door. 

"By the smile and confusion on Jack's face, you two made up?" Vinny asked. Alex put his arm over my shoulder and kissed my cheek. 

"Yep," he said. Vinny and Flyzik both smiled. 

"Thank god!" 

I laughed. 

"Well, it's time to go now," Flyzik said. "Marie will you be staying with us? Or will you be going home?" 

"Uh, well I have to talk to my mom. Tell her everything that happened...and stuff." 

Flyzik must've caught my message and nodded. "Okay, we'll drop you off at your house."

"Okay, then let's go," Vinny said. We all exited the venue and into the white van. I noticed that Samantha joined along. Alex and I settled in the back of the van. 

"Why is Samantha here? Was she here all the time?" I whispered. Alex shook his head.

"I guess she'll be staying with us for a while," he said. For the whole ride to my house, Alex and I just talked. About everything really. I haven't realized how much I missed him. Between the whole Hunter thing and being in jail, completely slipped my mind. A few minutes later, we ended up in front of my house. As far as I could see, the living room light was on and my mom's bedroom light was on. So she was home. I took a deep breath before settling out of the van.

"Do you want me to come with you?" Alex asked. I slightly nodded. We both walked hand in hand, up to my house. The van stayed put behind us. 

"It's going to be okay, she'll understand," Alex whispered to me. 

"I know, I'm just afraid," I said. 

"You'll be fine."

I nodded and knocked on the door. I heard a few muffles and shuffling coming from the house. My mom opened the door. Her hair was messed up like she hasn't slept in days. Her eyes locked with mine and her eyes got wide. 

"Marie...what are you doing here?" she asked. 

"I need to talk to you, can I come in?" I asked. Before my mom could respond, a man came in view beside her. An all too familiar man. "Dad."

He smiled at me, wrapping an arm around my mom's waist. 

"Hey, sweetheart. Long time no see."
