Alice mustered up her strength and went back into the gym to face Bella.

She grabbed her and looked straight into her eyes. They were like Lucas'...only, they weren't inviting. They were chilling, "There's nothing there. We are just friends. Just like, just like you and me." Bella blinked, it looked like she was on the verge of a breakdown, but she held it together.

"Promise?"

"I would never lie to you."

"You mean except for all those times you lied to me?"

"Yes. Except for all those times." They both laughed. She felt terrible, but at the same time, it's not like she can change it, she might as well embrace it.

"So, let's go." The three walked back to their home bases.

"Alright I have pictures and picture previews to pass out." Boomed Mr.smiles over the nonchalant classroom.

When Alice received hers, she almost cried.

"I look like a constipated mom trying to look cool and failing."

"The eminem hoodie doesn't help-" Lucas added.

"You," bella laughed so much some spittle hit Alice's face, "you look great!!" She wasn't encouraging at all.

"Don't feel bad! Look at mine!" Was said all around. Samantha actually looked really pretty, always. So did Bella, but she didn't believe it. Until first period started they just talked about their pictures over the years, and how in highschool they'll probably still look like fifth graders. I can't say they were entirely wrong.
