"I don't even know."

Her dad winked at her, "Dad, it's not like that."

"Whatever you say," he said putting the bread in the breadbox.

"Ugh!" She stormed off into her room. She layed there staring at the ceiling for hours, just thinking. She should have gone with it. This is what she's always wanted...

Her computer rang the Skype jingle, she bound over to it.

Jeremy Calling...

She hit decline. It rang again. Decline Decline. Decline.

Didn't he get the picture? She didn't want anything to do with this. She didn't want this. Not anymore.

After a fifth ring, she finally picked up.

"What Jeremy?!"

"Actually," it was a much deeper voice.

"Johnathan?" Jeremy's older brother...

"Alice, so Jeremy was at your house?"

"He was."

"I know, he told me all about it."

"I'm glad someone knows because i still don't know what that was," She brushed it off.

"So, he's not there anymore?"

"No..i thought he'd be home by now."

"Alice," his voice was grave, "Jeremy never came home tonight."

She was in such a state of shock, panic quickly set over her.

"Jonathan!"

"Alice, are you sure you don't know anything?"

"Positive," but she was interrupted by the chime of a house phone in the distance.

"Be right back," she could hear his footsteps fading gradually.

She sat anxiously, but John didn't come back. Hours passed, and she hung up. Was this some sick joke? She hated the whole lot of them.

She didn't know when, but sometime she must have fallen asleep, because she woke up in a puddle of drool on her mattress. She was excited to confront Jeremy on the bleachers this morning, but when she arrived with Sam, he was nowhere to be seen. That's when she was called to office.

"Alice," said the secretary, "Ms.Beryl wants to see you."
The guidance counselor. Had bella told about the razor? Was she here to be questioned? How would she protect Lisa and still get help?

She walked in cautiously.

"Alice," Ms.Beryl welcomed, "There's someone here to see you." She stepped aside.

"John?" She was beyond confused.

"I'll leave you too alone," and with that, Beryl was gone. The door clicked shut.

"Why are you here?" She questioned, "where's Jeremy?"

He teared up, "Last night," he choked, "when Jeremy left your house..." He seemed like he couldn't finish.

Alice gripped his knee and looked into his eyes, "Johnathan, what happened!?" But she knew. She was crying too.

"He was running, they say he was running, he was being foolish. Around Hanathy lane, he was charging ahead, not paying attention, and on a back road, there's no stopsigns- " his face dropped into his palms, and alice wrapped her arms around him.

"A car came around the turn, and-"

She burst into tears. The last thing she said to him was 'i'm done with you.'" She couldn't live with herself.

"John, i'm so sorry,"

"No, alice. It's my fault. I told him to go talk it out with you, i thought-"

"And i should have talked it out."

"No, Alice. Dont blame yourself for this! He should have been careful."

"It wasn't his fault."

"Right, they should have watched their speed."

"I never got to say goodbye."

"Nobody did. Jeremy wasn't one for formalities."

"God,"

"Alice," He held her tightly.
