“We’re here!” Rebecca squealed parking her navy blue Ford Explorer in front of the mall. I leaned forward to get a good look and grimaced at the building.

“Hey don’t worry this will be fun.” She said soothingly. I felt myself thinking back to the day spent at school. Rebecca had eaten lunch with me and then found out what happened with Erik. She was really upset for me and wanted to cheer me up by buying me some clothes and wouldn’t let me decline. That’s why I was here instead of breaking my vow and muffling sobs into my pillow.

“Come.” She said before running around the car to my side and opening the door. “You are so pretty, now’s the time to show it.”

I blushed slightly and got out of the car. Before going in I couldn’t help but glance in the mirror. I didn’t see anything special.

As her heels clacked on the waxed floor inside and my sketchers squeaked I found myself doubting myself yet again. My mind was telling me she wasn’t a real friend it was probably just a bet but my heart was telling me to enjoy it while it lasts. I don’t know why exactly but I chose to listen to my heart.

She suddenly stopped and turned to me. “Do you want a whole new look?” I bit my lip and nodded hesitantly. “Don’t worry I’m not gonna do the whole pink yucky Trixie thing.” I smiled and then realized I had never seen Rebecca wear pink. She had this cute Demi Lovato look going on except she wears more skirts than Demi.

“You need a bunch of ripped jeans and skull tee’s!” She said bubbly. “This is so fun!” She said, even though we just got there. Rebecca looked around before her eyes landed on a store and her whole face brightened.

I had to run after her even though she was in stilettos. Once I caught up she already had her hands full with clothes.

“Ooh cute. Ooh fab. Ooh scary! Ooh beautiful.” She kept mumbling with each item she picked up.

I awkwardly stood there for a few minutes before she remembered I was with her. “Don’t just stand there look around!” She ordered laughing breathlessly.

I returned the smile before turning towards the nearest clothing rack. Sifting through the clothes I saw a lot of clothes that I liked but not anything that I would wear. Finally I gave up and picked up a black hoody similar to the one I was wearing. Just as soon as it was in my hands it was knocked out.

“No!” Rebecca said sternly like she was scolding a pet. “Look it will be a change but not a big one. I’m not gonna make you show up in a sundress and ballet flats! No I will find something dark like you normally wear but not all black.”

I sighed deeply, change sounded nice but it was also scary. She ushered me into the changing room and it looked like a tornado hit. Rebecca had thrown clothes all over the place and more was coming. I was trying to figure out which clothes to try on first when Rebecca conveniently popped her head under the door.

“First outfit is on the chair.” She said before disappearing. I looked and neatly folded on the chair was some clothes. I quickly tugged it on, hoping it was nothing too showy or attention grabbing but when I looked in the mirror I couldn’t help but let a tiny gasp escape my lips.

I was wearing some low blue jeans with rips all the way up and a green oversized off the shoulder tee-shirt. It was pretty plain and everything but what shocked me was that I, Victoria Sirens had curves.

“Everything ok in there?” Rebecca asked tapping on the door. I smiled at my reflection and did a little spin before giggling.

“Hey did you just giggle?” She asked sounding amazed. “Must look good then.” Even though she couldn’t see me I nodded anyway.
