I read all if his entries since that day. Most of it was about me, deserving happiness. I told myself to smile more, for Nick. I miss him so much. Ian and Jade noticed but they didn't say anything.I was playing with Julia and Pearl as I heard the main door rang. Usually, I didn't care because it was probably someone who wanted to adopt a kid but curiosity got the best of me. I went downstairs and saw Ms Cocina talking to a guy by my age.
"Violet! Come meet your new friend." Ms Cocina said as she gave me space to walk.
"Hi, I'm Nick."
My eyes widen as I saw the guy who was standing in front of me. He had brown hair and eyes to match.
"Nick..?"
"Yeah, Nick Anderson."
"Oh. Welcome." I faked a smile and led him to his room. His room was Nick's old room.
"How did you end up here?" I asked.
"Well, I'm actually from another orphanage but I got adopted years ago. Their marriage didn't work out so they sent me here because my original orphanage got closed."
"Oh."
"You seemed happy, though." He said and I smiled again.
"A friend told me to stay happy before he died."
"Oh, I'm sorry. What was his name? Maybe I know him?"
"I'll doubt it."
"Come on."
"Nick."
"Yeah?"
I chuckled.
"No, I wasn't calling you. His was Nick. Nick Robinson."
