Chapter 5

The next day, my dad wanted to drive me since we didn't talked much yesterday since he kind of worked late, I told him it was unnecessary but he insisted.
"Bye mom," I said walking out the door. "Bye do your best," she said. "I will."
And then I stepped out, it was pretty warm as I felt the sun on my face, well it's still summer in the next month or so it would be a bit chilly. Dad was already in the car, I quickly got in the car and attaching my seat belt on.
"So how was your first day of school," he asked. "It was good, I made new friends," I said happily.
"That's good to hear, no problems I guess."
"No..., not really," I said nonchalantly.
"Alright then if there are any issues your having with anything in particular don't hesitate to ask, and there is also your mother you can ask," he said. "Sure, I'll do that," I said.
He smiles then said,"Alright lets get going we don't want to be late." I nodded, then we started to leave.

School had started hours ago, Camille and I were already heading towards the library to meet Tara. "So how'd it go yesterday with Joey," I asked.
"Oh..., yeah that he was flirting most of the time but I got through to him, he was kind of annoying can't believe we had the same house direction luckily it wasn't that far."
"Oh.., but was it so bad I find him kind of funny and maybe nice," I said thoughtfully.
"Really? Well I find him irritating, impulsive, and rude and...," she then stopped as I was wondering why she stopped when I look in her direction to my surprise Kai and Joey were outside the library as if waiting for someone. "Great...the least person I want to see is right at out destination," she said annoyed.
When the guys saw we were coming this way, Joey smiled brightly and said,"Hey, what a surprise never thought I see you here." "And what's that suppose to mean," Camille said a bit angry.
"Well I don't see you as the type to read or study, why would you come to the library," he said.
"Well I'm not dumb as you think I am, I was about to ask you why your here as well, are you following me?"
"What? No, Kai and I were waiting for Byron to get his books, besides why would I follow someone with a lack of attraction," he said teasingly. "Hey! I can be if I wanted to," she cried. "Ha! Yeah right," he said laughingly.
She was marching towards him furiously until I grabbed her then shook my head,she got the message and said," Yeah I know don't worry I wasn't going to do anything violent....yet," then turns to his direction.
I looked towards Kai and was staring right at me, was he looking at me this whole time? I thought back to my promise, that's right starting today we'll be friends... I stare back at him then smile, he seem to know that I remember the promise then I thought I saw him smile as well but it was quick to say if he did.
"Wonder why it's taking Byron so long to get his books he should be here by now," said Joey.
Oh! We almost forgot about Tara. "Tara's in there we should meet her," I said. "Oh yeah your right, lets go then."
We walked towards the library when Joey said," What do you need from the library?"
"Nothing just meeting a friend," Camille answered. "Oh..that girl from the other day...Tara was it?"
"Yeah, surprised you remember." "When it comes to nice and pretty girls I can't forget their names." "Yeah yeah..." "Well we'll come as well since Byron isn't coming out we'll have to get him."
We all walked inside the library, searching for them we finally found Tara and....Byron!
"Wow..never thought I see Byron with another girl, he isn't really interested in other girls but this is the first I've seen him with a girl and she's your friend isn't she."
"Yeah I'm as shock as you are never thought Tara would be with a guy like him," said Camille.
"Hey what do you mean like him," asked Joey. "Just saying I never would've expect it to happen."
"Well I would say I'd expected this but never thought it would be so soon," said Joey.
I have a feeling they're getting the wrong idea into jumping to conclusions, "Um..., don't you think it's to soon to tell..we shouldn't jump to conclusions," I said knowingly.
"Well I can see what you mean by that but who knows it is a possibility," said Camille.
"Yeah I'm reluctant to say but I agree with her for once, you might not know since you never had a boyfriend before," said Joey. "Hey don't just spout things like that, man your rude," she said.
"R-rude I'm just saying that cause its the truth." "Yeah but you don't have to be such a jerk about it."
"Jerk..., how am I a jerk?" He asked questioningly.
Great.., now they start arguing again, as I look at Kai he seems somewhat serious about something..., I wonder what...? "Hey would you mind if you can keep it down over there, you'll disturb the other students," said Byron.
Oh..I guess he found us out. "Elina..., Camille...," said Tara.
"Yeah sorry if we took long you were just talking to Byron we didn't want to disturb," said Camille.
"Oh..., well it's fine, we both just bump into each other and kind of chatted..," said Tara.
"Oh so that what it was...," said Camille. "Huh...what do you mean by that," asked Tara.
"Well...we thought something else was happening between you two," said Joey stepping in. Byron and Tara both look at each other confuse until they figured it out, Tara was blushing.
"Well I hope you know what you thought was not what you think..," said Byron after clearing his throat.
"Yeah yeah although you two do make a cute couple if you did go out," said Joey.
Both of them were surprised and embarrassed to hear that, Tara was red all over.
"I'm s-sorry...but I have to go..," said Tara as she quickly left. "Wow, really you have to say that," said Camille.
"W-what all I said is that they look good together," he said nonchalantly.
"That's why, you can be so absentminded sometimes," she said as she storms after Tara.
"W-what did I do...," he asked. "The thing where you always speak your mind," said Byron. " Is it wrong if I did?"
"No but you should think about others feelings before saying anything."
Joey was silent for a moment, then said," Yeah your probably right...guess I should apologize."
Byron nodded. Kai was silent most of the time and is still putting on a serious face I wanted to ask whats wrong until *R-rang!!* "I should get to class I'll see you guys later...," I said. Both of them nodded, when I turn to Kai he just looked at me. "I'll see you later then...," I said to him nicely.
"Yeah..., see ya...," he finally said. I smiled then started exiting the library.
