8. Lay (Happy Lay Day)

I woke up extra early today, hoping to get everything ready for my boyfriend's birthday. I showered and ate breakfast less than 20 minutes. I wore a simple dress and quickly walked out of the house. I checked my to do list and saw the first item I had to get.
Bouquet of balloons
I drove to a store. I hope Lay doesn't wake up that early, or at least doesn't wake up at 7:30 AM. I walked into the little shop. This store sold many party and decorations. I just wanted to get some balloons.
"Yeoboseyeo," I walked up to the counter and saw many balloons displayed against the wall. Variety of colors, designs, I didn't know want to choose.
"Can I help you?" The lady at the counter ask.
"Ne, do you have any birthday balloon you would give to someone you love?"
She nod and pointed at number #35. The design was pretty simple. A blue background with the words Happy Birthday! across the middle. I scan the wall and saw a unicorn design. I smile.
"Can I get three of number #37 and two of number #35?" I ask politely. She nod and adding helium to the lifeless balloons. She hand me the balloons. I immediately paid and walk out. The item on my list
Cake
I rush and threw the balloons into my car and drove to a bakery shop. There were many types of cakes, but I knew Lay doesn't like regular cake, so I decided to get him a white cake with blue icing.
"Would you like any wordings on it?" The lady ask.
"Can you put Happy Birthday Unicorn Lay?" I ask. She laugh and walked to the back.
"Crazy fan girls," I heard her mutter as she add the words. I bow and walk out with the cake.
Special Shirt
The one day I went shopping with Lay, I didn't bring any money. I notice him staring at a shirt for a while. I knew he wanted it, but I didn't bring any money.
"Oppa, kaja," I pull him away.
I shook my head to get out of my thoughts. I went back the store and saw the shirt. I didn't really know why Lay wants it, but whatever. After I bought the shirt and had searches for his size, I went to EXO's dorm. It was pretty big for a dorm. I rang the door bell a couple of times. One of the member half asleep, opened the door. Kris rubbed his eyes and yawn.
"Y/n, what are you doing here so early?" He ask. I laugh and held up the balloons and cake and the gift.
"Oo, you remembered. Lay was so nervous about you forgetting his birthday last night," Kris said. He welcomed in and told me to sit on the couch as he wakes Lay up. I place the cake on the counter and held the balloons and shirt on the couch. I sat down and waited patiently. I close my eyes and could tell I was a little tired from running around.
"Y/n?" I open my eyes and saw Lay in his boxers and a shirt.
"Happy Birthday, Lay!" I hug him tightly. He wrap his arms, caging me into him. I broke the hug and hand him the balloons and shirt.
"Wow, how did you know I wanted this shirt?" Lay ask. I kiss his cheek.
"Happy birthday my unicorn. Go brush your teeth," I laugh and lightly push him away. I walk over to the counter and started placing the candles on the cake.
"Y/N!" I turn around and saw D.O. I hug D.O and showed him the cake.
"Hm, the lady thought I would a crazy fan girl," I frown. D.O laugh and move his hand to touch the cake.
"Yah," I slap his hand.
"Lay, your girlfriend hit me," D.O whine. This little actor...
"I'm done," Lay yell from the halls. That would've woke the whole dorm.
"Wow, you even bought me a cake," he said. He wrap his arms around my neck. I guess it's call back neck hugging.
"Let's hurry celebrate your birthday," I said. Kris and D.O were the only two fully awake, so they were the only members beside Lay that celebrated. We clapped and sang the birthday song. Lay took five seconds to make a wish and blew out the candles.
"Ya!!!" I turn around and saw Chanyeol still looking asleep. I laugh. D.O started cutting the cake into four slices.
"Thank you, y/n," Lay said. He had icing all over his mouth. He lean in and kiss me cheek. I looked at his face and saw him blushing red.
"Mianhae, I didn't-" I crashes my lips onto his.
"It's fine. I hope you have a great birthday. Sorry, I can't spend my whole day with you. I have work," I said. Lay frown and cross his arms.
"So your work is more important then my birthday?" He said. I looked at Kris and D.O. They shrugged their shoulders, but nodded. I sigh and call my boss.
"Ne?"
"Sir, I can't make it to work today."
"Wae? You have tons of work to file and sign," he said in a stern voice.
"I'll work twice as hard tomorrow, I promise," I said. I was getting a little nervous.
"Araseo," he hang up.
"Yes!" I hugged Lay.
"You're staying?" Lay ask. I wipe the icing off my face and nod. Lay smile and hugged me tightly. I still had a little cake on my plate. Lay lean his head closer for a kiss, but I smash the cake into his face.
"Yah," he said. He was about to smash the cake into my face, but I duck down and it hit Kris.
"Oops, Mianhae hyung," Lay said cutely. I laughed at both Kris's face and Lay's face. Kris glared at me and wipe the icing off his face.
"Thank you, y/n. This is the best birthday ever," Lay said. I grab a napkin and wipe Lay's face.
"Wo ai ni," I said and kiss his white icing nose.
"Nado, Wo ai ni, y/n," Lay embrace me in his arms.
