20. Chen (Reflection)

My mind flowed off as my teacher gave us a useless lecture about life. Chen, someone I admired a lot, twirl his pencil with his fingers. He was also my best friend, but I got to spend less time with him since girls always try to get him to be hers. I, on the other hand, didn't want to compete with them. As much as I like him, I can't ever win against them. I remember when Chen and I would have a singing competition and we would have a hard time choosing who wins. Everyday, Chen would be drifted away by another a girl. They would force him to hang with them, leaving me alone. I use to be so happy and close to him, now I feel like we are just acquaintances. I walked across and hall and saw Chen talking to a group of a girl. He seems like he wants to leave so bad, but he couldn't.
"Hey Y/n," he said. I nod and walked past him. He seemed to have the word help bolded on his face. I turn around and join the discussion.
"Hello," I said as I join the group.
"Oh, Y/n," said one of the girls.
"Chen, I left my notes at home. Can you help me with homework," I ask. Chen nod immediately like his life was depending on it.
"Ne, annyeong," he said. We walked away and Chen smile.
"Thank you, Y/n. You are a life saver," he said.
"Aniyo, it's nothing," I said. We heard shouted and cheered. There was a girl hugging this guy tightly.
"Guess she just got asked out to prom," Chen said.
"Ne," I sigh.
"Have anyone asked you out yet?" Chen ask. I shook my head.
"Ha, no one would date this ugly pig," I said.
"What ugly pig? You'll surely find someone," Chen said. We sat down on a bench.
"What about you? Find any girl you like yet?" I ask.
"Well, I like this one girl, but I don't know if she'll like me back. I have a something of her," Chen said.
"Wow, you probably stood behind a tree and stalk her," I said and laugh.
"Yah," he said and dig into his wallet.
"I hope she'll say yes when I ask her to prom," he said. He took out a... mirror? He turn it around and it showed a reflection of me.
"Is it me?" I ask. I was stud. I was scared if he was going to show me an actual picture of a girl, but he likes me too?
"Will you go to prom with me?" He ask. I nod and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you, Chen. I like you too," I said.
