Hurt. (A Rhett and Link Fanfic)

Chapter 9

"Will you be my Girlfriend?" Rhett asked. I was stumped, I mean I just got out of a relationship. I wanted to say yes but what Link said Or else. What did that mean?!? I love Rhett though, Link doesn't control me anymore.

"Yes." I said to him smiling ear to ear. He picked me up and spun me around, us both hugging each other. He gave me a long kiss and set me down. He smiled at me and I smiled back at him.

"So, how does it feel not to be single anymore?" Rhett asked holding a fake microphone. He held in front of my mouth.

"Well, it feels great. Its probably the best feeling to know that someone is always right there, protecting me." I said. "OH AND HI MOM!!!" I yelled into the invisible microphone at the invisible camera. Rhett and I both laughed at my stupidity. Rhett hugged me and kissed the top of my head. We pulled apart and got back to work.

After Work.

I gathered all of my stuff and headed out the door hand in hand with Rhett. Maybe I should post it on Instagram that I have started dating Rhett? Ill ask him.

"Hey Rhett?" I asked as we got in the car.

"Yea?" He asked in the car.

"Do you think I should tell everyone on social media that you and me are a thing?" I asked as we drove out of the parking lot and on to the road.

"I don't know. People can be really mean, but maybe the mythical beast will be nice." He replied.

"Is that a yes or a no?" I asked.

"If you want to." He said.

"Ok." I said blankly. He took hold of my hand and stroked it with his thumb. I smiled at him and he smiled back, we were at a stop light. The light turned green and he looked back at the road, still holding my hand. Once we got home, Rhett ran over to my side and opened my door.

"Thank you." I said to him, smiling. Rhett was such a gentleman, and I loved him for that. He took hold of my hand and I jumped out of his truck. Rhett chuckled and I giggled. We walked inside hand in hand. I let go of his hand and went to the bathroom. Once I was done with my business, I walked out of the bathroom and grabbed my phone.

"Hey Rhett!" I yelled.

"Yea?" He asked emerging from the hallway.

"Let's take a picture of us snuggling on the couch so I can post it on Instagram." I said to him. He nodded and sat down on the couch with his legs bent out like he was a king. I got all close to him and took a selfie. In the caption i put 'Snuggling with my new Bae.' I posted it and sat my phone down on the coffee table right in front of the couch. I turned around and faced Rhett only to be greeted by a kiss. I kissed back with no hesitation. We were interrupted by my phone ringing. I stuck up one finger to Rhett, as saying hold on. I got up and off the couch and grabbed my phone walking down the hallway. While walking down the hallway I looked down at the caller ID. Link. I walked into the guest bedroom and answered it.

"Hello, Link. What do you need?" I asked nicely.

"I thought I told you to stay away from Rhett." He said.

"Link, I'm not your's anymore! I love Rhett now." I replied

"Katherine you don't really mean that. And somethings going to happen if you don't break up with him." He said.

"What do you mean?" I asked curiously.

"You'll see soon enough." He warned before he hung up.... What did that mean!?!?! I rolled my eyes and walked back out into the living room. I sat down next to Rhett and he wrapped his arm around my waist as he turned on a movie.

"So who called you?" He asked. I decided not to tell him, so he wouldn't stress over it.

"Oh, it was just a telemarketer." I lied to him. He nodded and looked back at the TV. It was already dark out. I slowly drifted off to sleep, my head on Rhett's chest.
