Part Six

Going through childhood
I never really had a single big dream
Always thousands of unreachable plans
Running through my innocent mind.

I know you would laugh at me
For being a cheeseball.
That sweet tinkling laughter.
but
If I had thought about it then
I do believe
My single big dream would be you.

All our whispered promises
In the grass
Under a star speckled sky
The moon illuminating us above
Like a spotlight
As our lips would me
Ever so gently
My arms wrapped around you
So tightly
As if I thought you'd fade away
If I let go.

Turns out I was the one who faded.

As a child
You never really know
What direction your life is going
But then again
As a child we really don't care.
I wish somehow there was a way
To reverse the clock
To make things right
To know that everything would be okay
To know that all the ridicule that would come later
Would be worth it
Because I would meet you.
