Crash

Sebastian had first raced out when he had heard the unmistakeable sound of a crash, throwing open the front door with a bang, and his jaw dropped to the sight of his brand new, and positively gorgeous Aston Martin's bumper crashed straight into the expanse of the garage door.

Jim's head popped out of the open window then, giving Sebastian a huge, dopey grin, and in Seb's eyes, he looked like he didn't just crash his fucking 100 grand car into the garage and currently had the cushion of the airbag squishing against his cheek.

"Morning, Sebby!" He called, almost giddily as Sebastians expression turned thunderous, incredulity bleeding through with his furrowed brow and dropped jaw, and he gestured with both hands to his wrecked car, arms raising up slowly as if weighed down by the utter shock of the situation.

"What the fuck did you do?!"

It took him a while to get the question out, air blowing out of his pursed lips in the formation of a 'w' as he faltered in shocked gasps, and eventually his words came out as a resulting and incredulous whimper.

"Oh, I popped to the shop! Brought a few supplies. I got ingredients for your favourite"

Jim seemed unwitting to the situation as he called out cheerily with a pleased and dopey grin, pushing the car door open in a swift movement and plonking his feet down onto the surface of the driveway before practically skipping towards the boot to take out the groceries.

Sebastian's gaze was fixed on the front of the car, seemingly frozen in a position with his expression suspended as if in the midst of a question. Jim, however, didn't seem to notice the garage door the car was fucking jutting out of, and he gave Sebastian a questioning glance as he went to pass him, looking him up and down with a small and frown, his arms ladened with groceries

"What are you doing? Come on"

The man was still in the same position, shoulders hunched and arms spread to gesture towards the state of the car, and his chest heaved with small, disbelieving gasps as he regained his senses. He slowly moved his gaze up to Jim, incredulous shock blatant on his features

"What did you do to my car?!"

Jim merely glanced at it with a casual air, and shrugged.

"I needed to go to the shop, and you were asleep, so..."

"So you fucking crashed it?!"

He exclaimed, absolutely livid now, and Jim stepped forward to shove the bags of groceries into Sebastians arms before moving towards the front door, waving a hand behind him as Sebastian turned to watch him go in a raging shock, any reaction slowed with the processing of his disregard for the entire situation.

"Oh, nevermind that. I'll get you a new one"

That snapped him back to his senses, and Sebastian's expression became hardset, brow furrowing and haw clenching, almost thunderous as he stomped after him, yelling at his partner from behind as he casually hung his coat up

"Nevermind? Nevermind?! That was a brand new car, James!!! 100 grand!!!"

"Like I said, i'll get you a new one" He shrugged once again, uncaring to the situation and merely waving it aside. Sebastian shook his head, bending to drop the groceries to the floor, before gripping Jims arm tight with his now free hands to pull and drag him back outside.

"No. no! We're not doing this! You're not going to disregard it this time!" Sebastian exclaimed as he pulled him along, Jim staggering behind him in an attempt to pull back as Sebastian dragged to position them both right next to the wreckage, gesturing down to it with his free hand "Look what you've done!"

Jim stood there for a moment, eyes blatantly fixed on the wreckage as smoke now billowed up in swirls from where the front of the car had collided with the metal door, smashed together "...What am I looking at, Sebastian?"

Sebastian was looking down at the wreckage like he was going to cry, face crumpled before he stilled, and paused as he registered Jim's words, and instantaneously, his head whipped round to look at him incredulously

"What are you look-?!" If possible, Sebastian stepped closer to the wreckage, expression livid as he pointed down at the smoking car with a jabbing finger without ripping his eyes away from Jim "That! That is what you are looking at! Brand new James! We only got it last week!!!"

"Ohh...that..." Sebastian watched as his eyes seemingly sparked with realisation, lips parting as he gave a sympathetic nod. He couldn't even register the fact that this man was supposed to be a genius as he blanched, head about to turn to look back down at the wreckage whipping back up to do a double take

"What do you mean 'Oh...that...'?! What else could I possibly have been talking about?!"

Jim merely shrugged, and Sebastian looked like he was about to cry again, shoulders slumping and his entire demeanor drooping in defeat as he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose and squeezing his eyes shut as he lost hope

"Did you at least get insurance?"

"Insurance?" Jim frowned, almost in disgust at the concept of it "What would we need insurance for?"

Sebastian's expression was almost pleading, incredulity making an appearance once again as well as the slow weight of his movements as his entire body moved to gesture towards the wreckage, hands held out "This! This, James!!! This exact situation is what we would need insurance for!!!"

"Just get a new one, like I said, Sebastian. All sorted" He nodded to himself, turning to walk off.

He let him go that time, his hands coming up to clutch his own hair, looking down at the once beautiful, now destroyed car jutting out of the garage door, and his palms ran down his cheeks, holding his face in his hands as he shook his head, and his shoulders wracked his sorrowful, and stressed sobs.

Ten minutes later, Jim was looking up from the sofa, craning his neck as Sebastian walked in from the door behind him, on the far right of the room.

His hair was sticking up in all directions from repeatedly running his hands through it, a dark blonde, scrambled mess, and his face was crumpled from the stress of it all, deflated. After a breath, Jim spoke

"...You look like shit"

With the offended but brief furrow of his brow, Seb looked like he was about to give a biting retort at that, but instead, opted to just shake his head and sigh. A moment later, his hand reached into his pocket to pull out the keys to the crashed car, and dangle them infront of him with a gesture aimed at Jim as he looked on.

He watched as Seb turned and headed in the direction of the bin, swaying the clanging keys over the mouth of it for a suspended moment, before they were abruptly dropped in with a clatter.

He turned again, and, shoulders slumped as he dragged his feet across the laminate floors, he loped over to the sofa where Jim was sitting, dropping down next to him as the criminal watched with an almost pitiful eye, before slowly leaning over to have his left cheek pressed to Jim's chest after a small pause.

Instinctively, and almost understanding, the criminal's hands came up to hold his head there, one snaking around to above his right ear, the other on top of the dishevelled nest of blonde, and he smoothed down and stroked through the strands in comfort for the defeated sniper, contented to look down at him and hold his head to his chest as he slumped into him. After a moment, he leaned down, pressing a lingering kiss to the crown of Sebastian's head as he sighed. His own, special way of apologising.
