Rory's POV
I did not know what to expect, coming back from the ball. But a lot has definitely happened.
I'm currently sitting on the floor, talking to Viera through the door."Viera, you don't want to stay in there forever, do you?" I ask, trying not to sound so much in a panic.
Silence. She's not answering me. Wow, being ignored by a very smart almost four year old.
"Hey, look, we're in a sticky situation. Grace has lost her bag and I'm sure you'd be such a great help. If you came out, we'll let you lead the search. After all, you know the house better than we do." I say sweetly.
"I have Grace's bag." Viera responds.
I don't know what to say. I quickly run to Grace and drag her to the bathroom.
"She says she has your bag." I whisper to Grace.
"In there with her?" Grace asks.
I nod.
"Viera, are you sure? Will you give it back?" I knock on the door lightly.
"No!"
This is hopeless.
"Guys, her mother's back!" A frantic looking Tara comes sliding down the hallway in her sock feet.
I check the nearest window to the front yard and see car lights.
"What do we do?" The obvious question asked by Tara.
The door to the washroom opens. Viera walks out, sets Grace's bag down and sits at the table and starts colouring.
"She-" Grace starts angrily.
"Hello? Viera?" Tracey Parks walks into the house.
"You guys aren't supposed to be here." I whisper.
I push them towards the nearest room, which is full of boxes, so I'm hoping they don't go in there much.
Then I quickly make my way to the kitchen."Hello! I was just using the washroom." I say.
"Viera said she has had a lovely time. I'm exhausted but thank you so much, again. It's just so nice of you to do this on your Saturdays. See you next week!"
She hands me my pay and I start to walk towards the door.
"Um, I noticed the fence in the backyard, way over in the left corner, it looks like something might've wrecked it. You might want to take a look at it." I say the last part loudly.
"I'll be sure to check it. Thank you."
I'm still standing in the doorway.
"Maybe now would be a good time, you know, just in case tonight, something happens."
"Well, if you insist."
Viera's mother heads to the backyard and I quickly bring Tara and Grace out and shove them through the front door.
"Pushy, today." Grace mutters.
"Not now." I close the door just as Viera's mother walks back in.
"I don't see any damage. But thanks for being concerned."
"Oh, no problem. I just thought maybe there was something out there. Really, no problems at all though. Bye!" I wave and leave.
I exhale as soon as I'm with Tara and Grace again.
"Um, that little girl took the reviver potion." Grace points out.
"She did not." I say half heartedly.
"Oh yes she did." Grace holds up her bag.
"We really can't go back in there right now. You understand that, right?" I ask.
"Okay, so what's our other option, then?" Tara speaks up.
"We're going to have to wait it out. Even if that means until next week. I am definitely sticking to my job next week. But I just might need some help." I tell them.
A/N: I have set a goal to write more. I'm hoping it will motivate me to continue more with this.
I think this story has a pretty good flow so far and I actually feel like writing it most of the time.
