Grace's POV
Tonight was crazy. Ms. Parks seemed genuinely concerned. I know, after seeing my parents' concern over me. The thing is, I had another vision once I got home. Viera's losing connection to her mother. She doesn't trust her mom because her mom is worried but doesn't believe her when she tells of what she sees. If Viera won't open up about this, it will be hard.
I can't sit with this heavy feeling on my chest.
I call Amanda.
"Hey." She sounds tired and I hope I didn't wake her up.
"Hi, Amanda. Are you up to talk?"
"Always! What's up?" Amanda's voice brightens.
"As you know, Rory and I went over to Viera's. It was a bit scary. Ms. Parks was to say the least, a mess. Viera refused to talk to us. They both seemed lost." I tell Amanda a hundred percent the truth.
"How are you holding up, Grace? I can come with you guys, next time if you'd like."
"No, it's fine. I'm fine. But I've been thinking. What if Viera and I are not meant to have a connection? What if it's too much magic for one town. Like how I'm here but Angelina is gone. What if one of us has to go somehow?"
"No, Amanda states, that's not happening. No one is leaving Willow Falls. Especially not you, Grace. You're so young and already looking out for this town. You're already such a big part of our group of friends. We've been working so hard together to figure this out and we'll stay together. Besides, it seemed like Angelina was set on an answer to this. Not making a connection is more like giving up than finding that answer."
"Thanks, Amanda."
"Hang in there, we're so close to solving this problem."
