Rory's POV
I'm wearing a blue dress that I found in my closet from the last considerably fancy event I went to.
Jake says we're going somewhere formal.
I'd say so too, because we're in a limo driving out of town."This is amazing." I say for the millionth time.
It's just getting dark out and the sunset is slowly fading.
"We're not even there yet." Jake laughs.
"No, never mind, it's right up there!" Jake points out the tinted windows.
I look out and see a grand building up a hill. Almost castle-like. Wow.
The limo parks next to a bunch of other limos. You know you're somewhere fancy when...Jake walks around and opens my door. I've learned to just let him get the door, because the first time, I tried to get out myself and hit him, not knowing he was there.
He takes my hand and leads me to ginormous double doors. A man in a suit opens it up with ease and gestures us forward."Welcome." He nods.
I smile as I look at Jake. What is this?
We walk into a ballroom."We are at the ball!" Jake announces in an obvious way.
I take a moment to take in the crystal chandeliers and the drapes off to the sides. It's beautiful. Though, to be honest, I feel as if the chandelier might snap at any moment. It looks so delicate. But that's just me being paranoid.
Jake's watching me look around."It's going to be a good night. I'm sure everything's fine back in Willow Falls." Jake wraps his arms around my waist.
"Of course. It's all so beautiful here. Thank you for everything. This is beyond amazing." I smile.
"Care to dance?"
I take Jake's hand and we blend into the crowd of dancing couples.
I sort of gape when Jake twirls me around and I recognize some big time celebrities in the room. This event is crazy fancy.
After a while of dancing, we head over to find some food. Which is pretty easy considering the long buffet table with everything you could possibly eat. The rest of the guys would love this. Everyone would, honestly.
We fill our plates and follow a lit up arrow to the dining room. Which is as grand as the ballroom.
We're halfway through eating and Jake's telling me about his latest adventure when my phone rings. (It's not just a buzz, it's an actual ringtone!)"Oh. It's Tara. Do you mind if take this? She's doing my babysitting job for me tonight."
Jake nods and I head over to somewhere quieter.
"Hello?"
"Rory!" Tara's practically shouting.
I pull the phone away from my ear a bit.
"Look, you need to come to Riviera's as soon as possible. I'm so sorry."
"Oh no!" Someone's shouting in the background and the phone gets hung up.
I click my phone off. Is Grace with Tara?
I go back to Jake and explain as best as possible.
"Something's happening. I have to leave. I really wish this didn't happen so much." I mean the whole saving Willow Falls things and just having to leave Jake's wonderful plans so much.
I really thought we'd have this night in peace. We run back out to the limo and head back to Willow Falls.
A/N: Aw, it sucks that Rory can't have a nice date with Jake. But you'll have to find out why in the next part!
(Hope you got my title reference. No? Haha okay. P!atd)
